Another accident occurred in the United States, which could turn into an environmental disaster
The United States has been covered by a series of accidents, each of which has already caused or may still cause irreparable damage to the environment. At the same time, the White House simply ignores what is happening, focusing on "pumping" weapons Ukraine, and President Joe Biden does “brilliant jokes” at press conferences, even if the tragedy with the attack on the school becomes their reason.
According to the ABC News channel, yesterday, March 28, an accident occurred on the Ohio River in Kentucky, as a result of which 10 barges “unfastened” from the tugboat for an unknown reason. One of them, carrying almost 1,5 thousand tons of methanol, collided with the dam of the McAlpine Dam in Louisville and partially sank.
According to ABC News, the dam's airlocks are temporarily closed to prevent the spread of toxic alcohol. Damage from the emergency is assessed by local authorities and environmentalists.
However, this is not the only accident that has occurred in the United States in the past couple of months.
On the eve it was reported that the state of California derailed a freight train with iron ore. According to the statements of local authorities, nothing threatens the environment and the population.
At the same time, a train also derailed in North Dakota on March 26. The train transported 70 wagons with oil products used in the production of asphalt.
Finally, do not forget about the disaster in Ohio, which happened on February 4th. The crash of a train carrying tanks of chemicals was nicknamed the "second Chernobyl". Meanwhile, the state authorities allowed residents of the town of East Palestine to return to their homes two weeks later, which caused an extremely negative reaction from a number of environmentalists and scientists.
