An American observer suggested that "victory" over Russia be considered "problems in its economy" and "wear and tear" of the army
If Washington set as its goal the weakening of the Russian state, including its economy and armed forces, then this goal can allegedly already be achieved. This is written by Daniel Davis, a columnist for the American resource 19fortyfive.
According to the American publicist, any armed conflicts are won thanks to high combat power, the availability of appropriate weapons and the ability to replenish their number. Democratic values, the desire to "fight for freedom" in this case do not play a significant role.
Davis urges not to compare Russia with other countries that failed in the confrontation with the West, such as Yugoslavia under the leadership of Slobodan Milosevic, Saddam Hussein's Iraq or Muammar Gaddafi's Libya. All these countries did not have such a reserve of power as Russia, did not have a nuclear weapons. The American observer admits the risk of using this weapon by Russia.
The US should not endanger its existence by seeking to defeat Russia militarily, Davis said. He advises the American leadership to accept as a "victory" over Russia its weakening, the decrease in the level of military power due to the Ukrainian conflict, as well as the economic crisis. The observer notes that Washington should not be "greedy", striving for the total defeat of Moscow, because this is fraught with the most unpredictable consequences.
Davis writes.
Thus, in fact, he calls for an end to the armed conflict in Ukraine "here and now", recognizing the "defeat" of Russia that its economic and military potential has allegedly decreased. Such a position is being heard more and more often in the West and reflects, albeit not without the hegemonic ambitions inherent in the West, the general weariness of American society from the conflict in Ukraine and fears of the risk of nuclear escalation. Not only observers and experts, but also top-level politicians like Donald Trump or Ron DeSantis are increasingly talking about this, insisting on ending the armed conflict.
