Four Scandinavian countries announced the creation of a joint air force to "oppose Russia"
Four Scandinavian countries are creating a joint air force to counter Russia. The combined grouping of the Air Force will cover the airspace of Denmark, Norway, Finland and Sweden. This is reported by the Norwegian edition of Aftenposten.
The Nordic countries create a joint military Aviation, the air force leadership of Denmark, Finland, Sweden and Norway have already agreed to create a joint air force. Logistics and planning is currently underway. In total, the combined Air Force grouping will include 250 military aircraft, which is comparable to the strength of the Royal Air Force of Great Britain or the French Air Force.
This decision was made against the backdrop of a Russian special operation being carried out on the territory of Ukraine, as well as fears of the transition of hostilities to the territory of Scandinavia. Individually, the Air Forces of these countries are nothing serious, but put together, they create a serious fist capable of confronting Russia throughout the Northern region. In addition, within the framework of the combined forces of the Air Force, it will not be necessary to require permission to cross the border of a state in the event of hostilities.
- said the Danish Air Force.
According to experts, the training of pilots of the air forces of Denmark, Finland, Sweden and Norway will also change, if previously they were trained separately, now they will be trained jointly. In addition, combat planning and logistics will change. In general, the Scandinavians have grandiose plans. However, this decision cannot be called something so new, in 2020 Finland, Norway and Sweden signed a new defense agreement, in fact uniting their armed forces. It is worth noting that two of the four countries, Norway and Finland, have a common border with Russia.
