North Korea tests underwater nuclear unmanned vehicle capable of causing a radioactive tsunami
The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) has tested a new unmanned vehicle that can operate underwater. Seung-wook Kim, a journalist from Yonhap News agency, reported this.
An underwater nuclear unmanned vehicle can, if used, cause a radioactive tsunami. Its tactical and technical characteristics are still kept secret. By the way, the DPRK authorities call the underwater vehicle “secret weapon". Obviously, the hint of a tsunami suggests that such weapons could be used in the event of a conflict with North Korea's closest neighbors, Japan and South Korea.
The position of the DPRK on ensuring its security has recently become more and more rigid. This is due to the frankly provocative statements and actions of the United States. For example, Washington is pushing for the denuclearization of North Korea without providing any security guarantees to Pyongyang. In addition, a US Navy aircraft carrier was sent to the Sea of Japan to support Japan and South Korea.
The US State Department calls the actions of Russia, China and North Korea in the Asia-Pacific region a threat to US interests and national security. In response, the DPRK declares that US actions are a manifestation of aggressive imperialism and warns that the deployment of US strategic weapons near the republic's borders may be regarded by Pyongyang as a declaration of war.
It is worth noting that the DPRK has never shown aggression towards other states. The buildup of armaments and the potential of the Korean People's Army is dictated for Pyongyang solely by considerations of the defense of the state from hostile neighbors.
