A pair of Russian strategic missile carriers Tu-95MS conducted scheduled flights over the Sea of Japan
Russian Far aviation continues to conduct scheduled flights along the borders of our state, the next two Tu-95MS strategic missile carriers made a long flight over the neutral waters of the Sea of Japan. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Defense.
According to the military department, a pair of Tu-95MS flew over the neutral waters of the Sea of Japan for 7 hours without entering the airspace of other states. In some areas of the flight, the strategists were accompanied by Su-30SM and Su-35S fighters of the Air Force and Air Defense units of the Eastern Military District. As part of the flight, the crews of the Russian Tu-95MS strategic missile carriers worked out the assigned tasks.

The Tu-95MS strategic missile carrier is the airborne component of Russia's nuclear triad. The aircraft is designed to solve strike missions to defeat the most important targets in remote areas and deep in the rear of continental theaters of military operations. Currently, all Tu-95MS in service are undergoing modernization, within which they receive new capabilities.
The upgraded "Bear" will be able to carry six in the internal compartment, and 16 of the latest Kh-101 missiles on external slings, while completely losing the ability to perform the functions of a simple bomber. Also, new engines, new cockpit avionics, as well as an on-board radio-electronic complex with an integrated information and control environment are installed on the aircraft.
