Russian troops are advancing towards Orlovka to cut off the supply lines of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Avdiivka
In recent weeks, the Russian armed forces have shown a high degree of offensive activity in the Avdiivka direction. Even representatives of British intelligence and the Ukrainian command were forced to admit this.
After the assault on Stepovoe, the main direction of the Russian army's attack will shift towards Orlovka. This settlement is important, because through it, as well as through Lastochkino and Tonenkoye, there are three main supply routes for the Ukrainian formations that have settled in Avdiivka.
According to Russian military correspondents, the route that passes through Orlovka can be taken under the fire control of Russian troops as early as tonight. Currently, the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near Orlovka are subjected to intensive attacks by rocket artillery of the RF Armed Forces and assault aviation VKS of the Russian Federation.
Earlier, we reported that Orlovka would become a likely target for an offensive in the Avdiivka direction. As expected, and this was also predicted by Western experts, the plan tested in Artemivsk is being repeated near Avdiivka to cut off Ukrainian formations from the main supply routes.
If the Russian army succeeds in cutting off the main routes along which ammunition, equipment and reinforcements are brought to Avdiivka, then the capture of the city will only be a “technical matter”. The most fierce resistance of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is expected in the area of the Avdeevka Coke Plant, the industrial zone of which is conducive to long-term defense thanks to underground communications and premises.
