In Monino for rarities

I constantly monitor the development of affairs in the museum, I know what kind of work there are volunteer-aviorerestorers to preserve the museum’s heritage, but most of all I wanted to look at the Mona’s collection of light aviation, which for decades has been hidden from the eyes of visitors in an old closed hangar. This summer, in connection with the repair of the hangar in which the collection was stored, as well as in connection with the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Air Force, many exhibits, after a serious restoration, were exhibited in the open areas of the museum. I could not miss the chance to look at the rarities standing in the open air, especially since it is rumored that all these aircraft will be put back into the hangar at the end of August. In addition, in my report I will be distracted by the "old" exhibits of the museum, which have acquired a new look thanks to the work of local restorers. One of the museum’s most important and largest exhibits is undoubtedly the Mi-12 helicopter which acquired its historical coloring in which he flew to an exhibition in Le Bourget in 1967. Now he stands on a spacious platform alone, the planes surrounding him have been cleaned, and you can enjoy the clean view of the air giant.

In Monino for rarities

1. We turn to the collection of early Jacob. Training aircraft Yak-11U, released by the aircraft factory 272 05.02.1954, transferred to the museum in 1965 year.

2. Training aircraft Yak-18, released 17.03.1951. Transferred to the museum in November 1958.

3. This plane always struck me with the unusual shape of its engine hoods.

4. If the early Yak-18 can also be seen in the Zadorozhny Museum, then its modification of the Yak-18 with a nose wheel, I, for the first time, saw the confession. The aircraft was released in December 1955. Entered the Air Force Museum from the military department of MIPT 11.02.1962.

5. Even more unusual nosing.

6. And this is also unprecedented by me earlier in a live machine, the aerobatic Yak-18PM. Pay attention to the unusual, fully retractable landing gear with a nose wheel, on the cabin pushed back to the tail fin. The plane was transferred to the museum of the Chkalov CAC named after 02.07.1973.

7. Further, the well-known and honored flight aircraft Yak-50. It is a pity that they have so few flying.

8. Everyone knows and is still flying in the Yak-18T flying clubs. However, pay attention to the windshield without vents and bindings. This is the earliest machine, the 001 serial number. The aircraft was transferred to the museum from the OKB.IM.AS.Yakovlev in March 1974.

9.

10. Jet TCB Yak-30, an unusually beautiful and proportional machine.

11.

12. An attempt to create a light attack aircraft based on the Yak-52. Many believe that with such pendants he never flew.

13. The Czech version of the aircraft Yak-11, Avia C-11. A gift to the Soviet DOSAAF on the 60 anniversary of the Czech SVAZARM.

14. And completes the line of rare Jacob early version of the Yak-12.

15. In the series of aircraft Yak was seen L-29, but also a worthy exhibit.

16. As I have already said, many exhibits, thanks to the efforts of volunteers of restaurants and museum staff, have acquired a completely new look. The Be-32 was put in order, the restorers even cured the blade of its propeller.

17. And this An-14 is still waiting for when it reaches its hands.

18. Now at the site of the helicopters. Yak-24 repaired and looks great.

19. Mi-eighth, twenty fourth and giants Mi-6 and Mi-10 are put in order.

20. American V-107 while waiting for their turn.

21. And next to the hangar is a whole placer of helicopter rarities.
Ka-15, gorgeous baby, a real decoration of the collection.

22. Next to him is the Ka-18.

23.

24. The helicopter Ka-26.

25. Anti-submarine helicopter Ka-25.

26. Another rarity is the Mi-1.

27. Next to it is a Mi-2 helicopter with a sight for launching an ATGM.

28. And the giant fireman, is a Mi-6PJ helicopter.

29. From sites located next to the campus and now disbanded Air Force Academy, the museum received former full-scale teaching aids. Such as this fighter-bomber Su-17М4. Now they will become exhibits of the museum.

30. The former "academic" Su-25.

31. Su-27 without nose cone.

32. Also from the academy on the grounds of the museum passed such large planes as the Tu-22М3, Tu-95MS, this one IL-76М.

33. And again the "old" Monin exhibits. Well restored early Yak-40, on open days there is an opportunity to see its cabin and cabin.

34. Observing the active work on preserving and restoring the exhibits of the museum, there is hope that we will see on its grounds even such seemingly lost specimens like this ekranoplan RL. Bartini BBA-14.
At least it is already raised on wheels and ready for transportation to the restoration site.

I would like to express my deep gratitude to all those who do so much to preserve the exhibits of the museum, brings real joy to the hearts of amateurs and connoisseurs of domestic aviation, support you in your labors, health and well-being.

What we have is not ......................

    Not in all cases relevant.

This is our story and it is necessary to keep it. There is no such museum in Novosibirsk.

    It's a pity.

The Mi-12 is impressive. A unique device, who knows why they refused to use them?

I have not been to the museum for a long time, although I was born in Monino. In my opinion, a few years ago an old hangar with antique aircraft burned down. I don’t know what I was able to restore, but for example, what was there in 1967, when my father and I were there (in the museum) Clickable

Photo of 1967 from my archive. Yak-18 on an open display near the old hangar in Monino. Note that the landing gear is with a nose strut, not a tail "blower".

And this "aerodynamic disgrace", in my opinion, was filmed in several films

Thanks, thanks. It was very interesting to see.
How many aircraft were built in the USSR! And all this is the work of designers, technologists, workers, pilots who flew on it ... Now we only pump oil and gas. Oh ...

    Thanks for the report!
Really our country cannot take away all this property under the roof!
This is such a minuscule compared with the swelling of money in another national project ...

Beautiful planes and helicopters - our former pride and glory! It is good that there are enthusiasts and restore at least the appearance of aircraft.
And academic planes are very kind of faded, you can see that nobody looked after them there. If the entire academic base was such, then this could serve as an occasion for Serdyukov to destroy the Air Force Academy.
