The Ukrainian 299th Air Force Brigade near Vuhledar lost its squadron commander, holder of the Order of Bohdan Khmelnitsky of all degrees
Against the backdrop of reports that Ukraine expects fighter supplies from the West, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine continues to lose flight personnel. If you bracket the ridiculous stories about the "ghost of Kyiv", the fact remains: there are fewer and fewer experienced pilots in Ukraine, and it is becoming more and more difficult to train a "new" flight crew or restore the skills of retired pilots.
Information has been confirmed that the 299th tactical brigade aviation named after General Vasily Nikiforov of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine lost another pilot. This is the squadron commander, Major Daniil Murashko, holder of the Order of Bogdan Khmelnitsky of three degrees.
According to some reports, he piloted a Su-25 attack aircraft in the Ugledar area. Accordingly, either it was shot down by the Russian Armed Forces, or it was the same “friendly” fire when the Ukrainian military, using MANPADS, shot down their own combat aircraft, initially thinking that it was a Russian combat vehicle.
The press service of the Armed Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (for simplicity, the Air Force) claims that Murashko made 24 sorties since February 2022, 141, "destroying about 70 armored vehicles, over 80 vehicles, including 30 tankers and about 600 invaders." As for how all this was calculated, the data, of course, are not given.
Initially, the 299th brigade of the Ukrainian Air Force was based at the Kulbakino airfield in the Mykolaiv region.
