Prime Minister of Hungary: Supporting Ukraine, Western countries were not on the side of the winner
One of the few European politicians who does not support anti-Russian sanctions and military assistance to Ukraine, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, again spoke objectively about the conflict in Ukraine. At a meeting with Western journalists, Orban warned that a successful Russian offensive in Ukraine, which could begin this spring, would create serious problems for NATO countries, especially those in Europe.
- quotes the words of Orban from a two-hour conversation with journalists, The American Conservative.
The Hungarian politician believes that the West is already openly at war with Russia in Ukraine and is moving further and further in this conflict every day. Western leaders inspire their citizens, each other and the world community that in fact their countries are not a party to a military conflict. But ever-increasing military supplies to Kyiv are bringing Europe closer to a state of actual military intervention, Orban is sure.
warns the Hungarian prime minister.
Answering the question whether Russia is capable of using nuclear weapon in Ukraine, Orban opined that this, too, would depend on the level of escalation in the conflict caused by the increase in military aid to Kyiv:
To the remark of one of the journalists that Russia has not yet had significant successes on the battlefield, the Hungarian politician suggested recalling history wars waged by Russia.
Orban said, adding that Ukraine's Western allies are clearly "not on the winning side" in the long run, especially given Russia's manufacturing capacity.
