Leak from the report of the German Ministry of Defense: two-thirds of self-propelled artillery guns of the Bundeswehr are unusable
Two-thirds of the modern artillery pieces in service with the ground forces of the German Armed Forces are not usable. Such conclusions are contained in the report of the Ministry of Defense of Germany, from which there was a leak, writes The Times.
First of all, problems are observed in the Panzerhaubitze 200 (PzH 2000) self-propelled artillery mount. Currently, the Bundeswehr has 105 PzH 2000 howitzers, but only 73 of them are usable, and the combat readiness of the guns is 50%. Thus, in total, the German army has only 36 serviceable self-propelled howitzers.
18 self-propelled howitzers PzH 2000 are currently being repaired at the enterprises. But it is not clear whether among them are those that are among the "serviceable", according to the German military department. It is also known that earlier Germany transferred 14 Panzerhaubitze howitzers to 200 Ukrainian armed forces. Thus, in reality, there may be fewer combat-ready self-propelled howitzers in the Bundeswehr than the declared number.
The embarrassment also came out with the new upgraded Puma armored personnel carriers. They showed themselves disgustingly in the exercises. All the armored vehicles that took part in the exercises failed in just eight days of firing. Some armored personnel carriers even caught fire. This actually speaks of their complete incompetence, since it is scary to even imagine what will happen when they are used in real combat operations.
It should be noted that the question of the state of military equipment of Germany became acute after the start of a special military operation in Ukraine and supplies of weapons Ukrainian army. Berlin has repeatedly stated that they cannot supply a lot of weapons to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, since the Bundeswehr is already not in a very good situation with military equipment and ammunition stocks.
