In the face they know only colleagues. If they sometimes get into the lenses of cameras or video cameras of ubiquitous journalists, their faces still remain unrecognizable for black masks. They are fighters of an elite anti-sniper team, whose main task, according to orders and governing documents, is “to prevent an attempt on the guarded object”. Their work is a secret sealed. And they do not like to talk about it. And if something is told, it is only in the most general terms. No details. Without names and places of action.
- Our work begins long before we climb on roofs to protect the top leaders of the country, participating in mass events. In general terms, it looks like this. When it becomes known place of the next meeting of the president or prime minister to the people, the operational security officials examine a given territory. At the same time, the most convenient positions for us are identified. As a rule, these are the highest buildings. We act on the principle of war in the mountains - who is taller is stronger. Also examined are those places that may be suitable for attackers. Operational work is being carried out with the residents of “sniper-convenient” apartments to identify those who could potentially participate in the assassination attempt or be used in the dark. In parallel, analysts work, assessing the possible scenarios and evaluating those who would attempt to organize.

In addition, we transmit photos of those persons whose appearance at the event promises a great deal of trouble. Of course, killing them in the midst of the crowd is an undesirable extreme option, but any of us, seeing the "enemy" in the sights or in binoculars, can send operatives to him by radio. Having studied the scheme, we, as they say, go light on the reconnaissance of the area, determine our future positions and look at the sniper-dangerous places. All this is done secretly, without attracting the attention of citizens.
On the day of "X" by an additional instruction, and the team is leaving in place well before the event. Given the increased interest of our people to everything unusual that happens in the yard, on the street or on the square, we have to resort to various tricks. For example, weapon we rarely carry it in the clear. Usually we use special bags. We put on inconspicuous overalls. With the inhabitants of the upper floors carry out preventive measures in advance to the height of the operation, they have not broken our work challenge for our souls law enforcement officers.
Antisniper team is always divided into pairs. This allows for many hours of observation alone to relax a bit, while the other monitors in the emergency mode. Relaxing is, of course, loudly said. At the same time, you can do a special exercise - several times close your eyes tightly for 3 — 5 seconds, and then keep your eyes open for the same 3 — 5 seconds. The main task of the antisniper is observation, observation and more observation. In this case, everything that is in your sector should be treated with suspicion. Ideally, you should try to imagine yourself in the place of the enemy - and what I would do, being "on the side" ?! Then you begin to perceive more sharply and a dark attic on the opposite house, and not due to the weather an open window on the top floor of the next high-rise building, and a car below, the driver of which stubbornly wants to pass through the cordon just at the time when the guarded object is being pushed to the venue. You report to the commander about all this and after a few minutes you learn that the attic has already been inspected, you see that the window hastily closed, and the persistent car enthusiast with the car was taken away for trial. And here comes the “object” that we protect. With the second, it leaves the armored car, our attention is tripled, if not increased tenfold. Now you share your sector into portions equal to the field of view of the optical sight, and investigate the them slowly and carefully.
