Morocco to give Ukraine spare parts for tanks bought from Belarus
49
Morocco will be the first African country to provide military assistance to the Ukrainian regime. According to the French edition of Le Journal de l'Afrique, Rabat will provide Kyiv with spare parts for tanks T-72B and T-72BK.
It is specified that the Maghreb country purchased the corresponding tanks from Belarus in the period from 1999 to 2001.
The Moroccan state made the decision on military supplies under pressure from the United States.
Under conditions of the strictest secrecy, Washington managed to convince Rabat to deliver spare parts for T-72 armored vehicles to Kyiv.
- reports the French media, making it clear that this secrecy was not so strict.
The Americans ensured that African countries were also drawn into the Ukrainian confrontation on the side of Kyiv.
The meaning of the West's efforts to attract African countries to supply Ukraine weapons lies in the fact that the states of the black continent have impressive stocks of Soviet-made weapons. Kyiv especially needs it in the conditions of the depletion of the European arsenals of Soviet weapons and military equipment. At the same time, the main problem with the transfer of NATO weapons is that Ukrainian militants need to be trained to handle them, and this takes precious time.
