Bulgaria is preparing to send to Ukraine the first package of military aid after the adoption of the relevant law
For the first time, Bulgaria is preparing to send a military aid package to Ukraine. The country's parliament on Friday, December 9, approved the list of weapons and ammunition that will go to Kyiv. It is reported by Reuters.
The Bulgarian parliamentarians classified the list of military aid for Kyiv included in the first package, but noted that Ukraine is in vain waiting for the delivery of heavy weapons, aircraft or air defense systems, Sofia will certainly not transfer this. The first delivery will include a lung weapon and ammunition.
Bulgarian Defense Minister Dimitar Stoyanov is actively opposed to sending heavy weapons to Kyiv, stressing that his task is to ensure the security of Bulgaria, not Ukraine. At the same time, Zelensky and his entourage are literally licking their lips at the remaining complexes and equipment of Soviet and Russian production that the Bulgarians have. And we are talking about the S-300 air defense system, as well as MiG-29 and Su-25 fighters and attack aircraft. Moreover, the attack aircraft have been modernized.
Stoyanov added.
Until the last moment, Bulgaria remained a country that did not provide military assistance to Ukraine, but in early November, the Bulgarian parliament pushed through the adoption of a bill on military assistance to Kyiv. The initiators passed a new law under the slogans of "solidarity" with NATO allies, as well as the opportunity to get rid of "obsolete and rusty" Soviet weapons, transferring them to Ukraine.
