TsNIItochmash supplied the Ministry of Defense with the largest batch of 9X21 mm pistol cartridges in recent years

The Central Research Institute of Precision Engineering has completed a contract for the supply of 9X21 mm caliber cartridges with a lead core to the Ministry of Defense. All products have already been shipped and received by the customer. This was reported by the press service of the concern "Kalashnikov".

TsNIItochmash handed over to the military a batch of pistol cartridges of 9X21 mm caliber, thereby fully fulfilling the contract for the supply of cartridges of this caliber. The number of transferred ammunition is not reported, but the company notes that this is the largest batch of ammunition of this type produced in recent years.

As the press service of the Kalashnikov concern explained, the cartridge with a lead-core bullet under the index 7N28 is designed to defeat enemy manpower not protected by personal protective equipment. The cartridge was developed at TsNIItochmash in the second half of the 90s for use by the entire line weapons of this caliber, including for all modifications of the SR-1 "Gyurza" pistol and the SR-2 "Veresk" submachine gun. A bullet with a lead core in a bimetallic sheath has a low ricochet ability.

The Serdyukov self-loading pistol (SPS or SR-1 "Gyurza") was developed at TsNIItochmash for special units of law enforcement agencies. Adopted by the FSB and FSO in 1996. It has several modifications, the last one is the SR1MP pistol with the possibility of installing various devices, including a silencer.

The SR-2M "Veresk" submachine gun was developed at TsNIITochmash and was first shown to the public in 1999. It was created as a weapon capable of hitting an enemy in personal armor protection of the second class at a distance of up to 200 m and unarmored vehicles at a distance of up to 100 m. silencer.

SR-2M "Veresk" is only for tank crews and pilots, it is no longer needed. Where were so many rounds transferred?

There is no place for him among the members of the tank crew.

"Veresk" was adopted by the FSB (in particular, the Vympel detachment) and the FSO of Russia, as well as some special forces of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation (in particular, the Moscow OMON) and the National Guard.

Cartridges with a lead-core bullet pass as practical. Not armor-piercing to train

Due to the small ricocheting properties, cartridges with such bullets are mainly used by special services when shooting indoors, well, so as not to hurt themselves.

In the Russian Guard, weapons under the caliber 9x19 mm (Lebedev pistol, etc.) are in service, and 9x21 cartridges are being mastered in the Army (Udav pistol ...) and special services ("Gyurza", "Veresk" ...).
The pilots in the NAZ adopted the PPK-20 assault rifle - it is chambered for 9x19mm, although if they have to shoot from this machine gun, then most likely at the soldiers of a potential enemy, and they are in personal protective equipment, so from pistol cartridges, a 9x21mm cartridge would be more suitable.

An epoch-making achievement for TSNIITOCHMASH in modern times. I wonder if any of the combatants will notice this?

Due to the "mass" need, the campaign will continue to gather dust on the rocks until the expiration date comes out, and then for recycling, but that is a separate issue and other grandmas, although there may be one office.

    Cartridge "Luger". Or Parabellum.
That's what they call him in the west.

This refers to 9x19 mm cartridges, and TsNIItochmash supplied the Ministry of Defense with 9x21 mm cartridges.

And how can we use a pistol in trench warfare? Well, really?
This is a weapon of urban combat, mainly for indoors. Shooting at the enemy with a pistol in the combat conditions of Donbass is some kind of absurdity.
Well, maybe only pilots can use it, try to fight off captivity, and even then for a couple of minutes.

Artyomovsk won quite a take in urban areas.

Another thing is that the pistol in our army is legally flawed. A pistol would be a spare weapon for every fighter, and not the main one for some.

And how much - so much?

Tsniitochmash is not quite a plant, what would cartridges be made in millions of batches.
