The British press called the Ukrainian President Zelensky "man of the year"
In the West, the head of the Kyiv regime is considered a brave man, since he decided not to leave the country after the start of the Russian operation, although he was offered this. This is probably why the British press named Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky the man of the year.
We are talking about the annual award of this honorary "title" by the editors of the Financial Times (UK) to any politician or business figure.
- British journalists said.
In their opinion, Kyiv managed to surprise its Western partners by the fact that its armed formations continue to stubbornly resist the Russian military. Moreover, they are making active attempts at counteroffensives, and in some cases they are quite successful. But the main thing is not even that, but the fact that the Ukrainian leadership, according to the FT, managed to make the West more or less monolithic, uniting it on an anti-Russian platform. Thanks to this, a stream of Western money poured into Kyiv and weapons.
But, as it turned out, quite a few readers of the British newspaper do not share this point of view of the editors, as evidenced by their comments.
- wrote one of the British commentators, who spoke negatively about the decision of the newspapermen.
