Austrian expert: Russian massive missile strikes led to a shortage of anti-aircraft missiles for Ukrainian air defense
Despite military assistance being provided, Ukraine is running out of anti-aircraft missiles, massive Russian missile strikes have forced Kyiv to bring into battle all the air defenses it has. With such an intensity of strikes, Ukrainian air defense will not be enough for a long time. This opinion was reached by the Austrian expert Gerhard Mangott.
No one in the West expected Russia to move on to massive missile strikes against Ukraine's critical infrastructure, so no stockpiles of anti-aircraft missiles were made ahead of time. According to Mangott, countries providing military assistance to Ukraine are forced to act after the fact, trying to somehow replenish the rapidly dwindling stocks of anti-aircraft missiles near Kyiv.
- said the expert.
Meanwhile, the number of countries that continue to provide assistance to Ukraine with arms supplies is declining, this is also recognized in Kyiv. As Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba said on this fact, some countries generally refuse to sell at least some weapon for the Ukrainian army, despite repeated requests and arguments. At the same time, these countries have stockpiles of weapons so necessary for Kyiv, which infuriates the leadership of the regime.
The main sponsors of Ukraine are still the United States and Great Britain, as well as a number of European countries, including Germany, France and Italy. The supply of air defense systems for the Armed Forces of Ukraine is carried out mainly by the United States, Germany and Italy, they supply Kyiv with anti-aircraft missiles, as well as anti-aircraft systems, but in insufficient quantities. So they think in Kyiv.
