Russia has delivered a batch of APS submersible ammunition to an unnamed foreign customer

Batch of special cartridges for underwater weapons, in particular the APS machine, was sent abroad. This was reported by the press service of TsNIITochmash.

According to the Central Research Institute, 5,66 mm caliber cartridges for a special underwater assault rifle APS were shipped to a foreign customer in accordance with an earlier contract. Which state the customer belongs to is not disclosed, but it is emphasized that this is not the first delivery of special cartridges to this country, which previously purchased special SPP-1M underwater pistols and APS assault rifles.

In accordance with the contract concluded between Rosoboronexport and a foreign customer, TsNIItochmash shipped 5,66 mm cartridges for special underwater assault rifles APS

- said the head of the department of foreign economic activity and civil projects of TsNIITochmash Irina Semenyako.

In February 2019, the Rostec press service reported that TsNIItochmash had launched a new automatic assembly line for underwater weapons cartridges, which is capable of producing up to 10 cartridges for the 1 mm SPP-4,5 underwater pistol and the 5,66 caliber APS underwater firing machine. mm. According to the Central Research Institute, these ammunition allow for aimed fire at a depth of up to 20 meters from a pistol and up to 40 meters from a machine gun. High accuracy of fire with these cartridges is achieved at a depth of up to 5 meters. In addition, these ammunition can be used for firing on land or from under water.

The SPP-1 underwater pistol and the APS submachine gun were developed by TsNIItochmash specialists to equip combat swimmers and ensure effective engagement of enemy saboteurs and other targets on the surface and underwater. Since the late 70s of the last century, weapons have been supplied abroad, mainly to the countries of the Middle East and Asia.

At the expense of "nemchury" the question is still "muddy" ...

In any case, it cannot be ruled out that Gazprom will carry out restoration work on the damaged sections of SP-1 and SP-2. This is a matter for three to four weeks ...

But, BEFORE THIS, I would "warmly recommend" the Russians to check the condition of the rest of the SP-1 and SP-2 along their entire length. For "professional bastards" (and the Russians today deal with them ...) in such cases, they instruct the performers to mine and a number of other areas. And the installed charges are activated on them after the owner of the highway has carried out restoration work on the damaged areas ...

And the "badyaga" begins "anew" ...

For this, first monitor the undamaged sections of SP-1 and SP-2 along their entire length. With the help of the same unmanned underwater vehicles (with the exchange of information with surface platforms patrolling over the routes for laying SP-1 and SP and the possible installation of lethal anti-sabotage weapons, with possible attempts to get closer and means). Then only, to carry out all sorts of "recovery". No longer reducing the intensity of monitoring. And including its costs in the price of gas supplied to a potential customer. And such customers will appear. Life will make...

True, in the Baltic during this period, the time of storms begins. That carrying out any work (including investigating the causes of the so-called "accident" ...) is pretty difficult.

By the way, the noise underwater situation also differs during these two weeks from the usual "background" for the water area. And it is capable of "crushing" all the "library" signatures of submarines and BEPAs of a potential enemy ...

So, you should not be "surprised" if, under this "silence", he will lead (or has already led ...) into the waters of the Baltic and led him to the WWII and WWII times "cleared" from mines in advance, during the annual BALTOPS, positional areas for a couple - three of their MC PLA. To inflict a "blinding" blow on the Russian missile launchers from them (a pair of deployed VZG and Volga missiles in Gantsevichi ...). After all, they are literally at a distance of a "pistol shot" from these positional areas ...

Well, "further" we ourselves "think" ...

This is how I share my stupid fantasies. If they tell me that the waters of the Baltic for, as an operational area for the US MC submarines, are "shallow", but perhaps I will remind you that the "Kursk" (with its displacement) maneuvered at such depths quite professionally. And he "drowned", not at all because he "ran aground" ...

In the Baltic, for the US MCPL, the main danger was not the "shallowness" of the water area, but the GREAT CONTAMINATION of its bottom with the remnants of unexploded ordnance from the times of WWI and WWII ...

Now they, in significant numbers, have already been eliminated ...

Here you are very optimistic. Today I watched an interview with a specialist and he named the minimum period of 3-4 months after reaching agreements. And that there is simply no hope for the restoration of damaged threads before spring. The only thing that can be done is to start pumping on the last whole thread.
And here the actions that you described are just necessary, because undermining the last thread is quite possible.

He fired both from the SPP and from the APS.
Under water and on the shore.
      Unforgettable experience!
Under water, Amer's fur seals have no chance. They only have knives.
Yes, and on the shore of them at ten meters you can make porcupines. There bullets are long, like knitting needles.
A little further away - problems arise, the bullet begins to tumble. She needs a dense medium for direct flight - water. wink

Do they involve the transfer of hostilities under water (all over the world)? A highly specialized weapon, which was released, well, let it be a couple of hundred for each fleet of the USSR + a hundred for export. There doesn't seem to be much money to spend...

From my naval life (I don’t know how it is now), but earlier these cartridges were under the strictest control not only as small arms ammunition.

Aha, under the strictest, in 2002, I was sitting with a friend, her mother takes out a bag of APS cartridges from the closet, 30 pieces, you don’t need it, she says? I almost fell into the sofa, well, and advised me to bury it somewhere in the garden area, but not on it, and forget about the cartridges completely, they used to live in Kamchatka, my father served in the Navy

and my battalion commander (after the shooting there were cartridges) left half the packaging in the cabin safe! a "friend" came from a certain department, forced to open the safe. The showdown is over - NSS in the service card! And then they said about their certain "degree of mystery".
The battalion commander was still young, he did not know that it was better to throw the unfinished ones "overboard" and write them off later!

So now we are armed with a machine gun, where these cartridges are no longer suitable. Perhaps that is why the previous version went on sale abroad.
