Liz Truss at the UN: New weapons are coming to Ukraine even during my speech
British Prime Minister Liz Truss, in her speech at the 77th session of the UN General Assembly in New York, promised that London would maintain or even increase military assistance to Ukraine. At the same time, the British Prime Minister assured that "nobody threatens Russia."
Truss said.
It's hard to disagree with the British prime minister - Russia really "is not threatened by anyone." A total hybrid war is being waged against our country: with the help of Western weapons, including the British one, in Ukraine, economic sanctions and in the information field. The day before, Truss announced a new £2,3bn ($2,64bn) military aid package for Kyiv in 2023.
The Ukrainian army, with the assistance and under the leadership of NATO, strikes at the Donbass, the liberated territories of Ukraine and Russian regions. It is difficult to call this a "threat" - according to international law, these are acts of direct aggression and war crimes against civilians.
Truss continued in her speech, adding that Britain will not rest "until Ukraine wins."
According to her logic, with whom Liz Truss is clearly not on friendly terms, such a statement in Russia should definitely not be perceived as a threat. Suffice it to recall the readiness to use nuclear weapons, which Truss easily announced during the pre-election debate. It is easy to guess against whom the British Prime Minister is ready to use the nuclear arsenal.
The promise of the head of European diplomacy, Josep Borrell, to introduce new sanctions against citizens of the Russian Federation and sectors of the economy in connection with the holding of a referendum in the regions of Ukraine not controlled by Kyiv also sounds very “peaceful”.
The day before, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken issued an official statement in which he promised to support Ukraine, including military supplies, "for as long as it takes." Almost all Western leaders have made and continue to make similar statements. It doesn't even make sense to quote the "peaceful" rhetoric towards Russia and the Russians of the representatives of the Kyiv regime.
Naturally, in the inverted logic of Western leaders, all this sounds different: defending democracy, helping the Ukrainian people, fighting Russian aggression, etc. But words cannot replace facts, and the new British Prime Minister is well aware of this, even despite her weak knowledge in logic.
