The head of the IAEA, who left the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, which was being shelled by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, expressed concern about the Iranian nuclear program
The issue of Iran's nuclear program remains one of the main issues on the agenda of Tehran's negotiations with the West. Recently, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) stated that it cannot guarantee the peaceful nature of Iran's nuclear program. According to the organization, Iran has enough uranium to produce an atomic bomb, which caused concern of the head of the IAEA, who left the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant. Shelling of the station by the Ukrainian armed forces continues, but the IAEA today, as it turns out, is more concerned about the Iranian nuclear program.
The IAEA emphasizes that Iran continues to enrich uranium. He conducts this activity, exceeding the limits established in the relevant agreement of 2015 by 19 times. According to the international organization, the stock of 60% enriched uranium currently stands at 55,6 kg compared to 43,1 kg in the past. Thus, Iran managed to move much closer to the 90% threshold required for the production of nuclear weapons. weapons.
Iran has the capacity to produce 25 kg of enriched uranium. He can complete this task within three to four weeks, and create his own atomic bomb in two years, or even faster. The IAEA leadership also expressed concern about the lack of communication between Iran and the agency. The agency says that Iran now has 3940 kg of uranium, which can be used to produce an atomic bomb in the future.
In turn, Tehran claims that its nuclear program is exclusively peaceful. Therefore, Iran insists on closing the IAEA investigation. In addition, Iran has imposed restrictions on UN inspectors to monitor their nuclear facilities.
On the other hand, is it possible to expect Iran to curtail its nuclear program in conditions when the West itself is demonstrating increased aggressiveness, readiness to use violence for any reason? Does not the example of Russia, for which the possession of nuclear weapons is the main guarantee of security, have much to demonstrate to Iran? Moreover, Tehran is well aware of the partisanship of senior officials of the IAEA - even on the example of their attitude to the situation with the shelling of the Zaporizhzhya NPP by Ukrainian troops.
Naturally, Tehran wants to secure its country from the risk of US and NATO attacks, and the possession of nuclear weapons is the most effective way to achieve this goal.
By the way, it was the United States that once unilaterally withdrew from the nuclear deal with Iran and imposed new sanctions against the country. After that, Tehran began to curtail the implementation of the requirements of the agreement. Washington is now refusing to accept Iran's demands for a deal, effectively provoking the Islamic Republic to end negotiations.
