Turkish Defense Ministry inspected the first dry cargo ship with Ukrainian grain
Footage of the inspection of the first dry cargo ship with grain exported from Ukraine appeared on the Internet. They were published by the Ministry of National Defense of Turkey. Journalists from the main world media watched the process of screening the Ukrainian dry cargo ship from the shore.
The ship with Ukrainian grain arrived in Istanbul on August 2, 2022, and today, August 3, specialists from the Turkish military department are inspecting it. Inspectors check what kind of cargo arrived on the ship, count the amount of exported grain.
A much more responsible task will be to check the ships that will come to Ukrainian ports for grain. They will have to be examined by inspectors from all four sides - Ukraine, Russia, Turkey and the UN. The main task is to prevent transportation on ships following to Odessa and other ports of Ukraine weapons, ammunition and any other military cargo.
Recall that on July 22, 2022, in Istanbul, the Ministers of Defense of the Russian Federation and Ukraine, Army General Sergei Shoigu and Alexei Reznikov, signed agreements on ensuring the export of grain from the Black Sea ports of Ukraine and on lifting restrictions on the export of Russian food.
The agreements were signed in the presence of representatives of Turkey and the UN. UN Secretary-General António Guterres called these agreements unprecedented and expressed hope that they would be a step towards a peaceful settlement of the Ukrainian crisis. Now Ukrainian grain can be exported from the ports of Odessa, Yuzhny and Chernomorsk.
