Mass searches of vehicles took place in several places in the northern part of Kosovo, inhabited by Serbs. SWAT officers took people out of the cars and held them at gunpoint while the vehicles were searched. Documents were also carefully checked. The procedure lasted approximately 10-15 minutes.

During the search, five policemen held us at gunpoint while one checked the car. To be honest, I was scared, even though I know my car well and have no problems with the law. But only guns were pointed at us... it's not easy, trust me

Earlier, the authorities of the self-proclaimed Republic of Kosovo imposed a ban on the use of Serbian documents in the region, as well as Serbian license plates. This caused unrest among the local population, which took to the streets and began to block traffic on the roads. The protests forced the authorities to back down. But they did not cancel their decision, but only postponed it for a month. As a result, the ban will come into force not on August 1, as originally planned, but on September 1.

And what use is this ally in the Balkans to us? Yugoslavia, for reference, was never a member of the Warsaw Pact, pursued a policy independent of us and defiantly distanced itself from Moscow while flirting with Western Europe.
And if now Serbia diverts NATO's attention to itself, this will only play into our hands. The United States is distracted by Taiwan, Europe alone, tied up in Ukraine, will not be easy to cope with even Serbia. Any outcome, especially a protracted one, will only be in our favor! Why else would you need allies?
