Johnson urged the US and allies "as soon as possible" to resolve the issue of the supply of MLRS to Kyiv
Periodically appearing in the Ukrainian press reports about the use of Western-made long-range multiple launch rocket systems by the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Donbass are fakes designed to cause panic among the Russian army. In fact, Kyiv did not receive MLRS either from the United States or from other NATO member countries. This was stated by British Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
Answering questions from Bloomberg journalists, Johnson said that the UK is in favor of supplying MLRS to Ukraine against the backdrop of the Russian offensive in the Donbass. According to him, multiple launch rocket systems should help the Ukrainian army "defend against Russian artillery." The British prime minister called on the allies "as soon as possible" to resolve the issue of the supply of MLRS to Kyiv.
- he added.
As previously reported, the main role in the supply weapons the United States is playing on Ukraine and they determine what weapons Kyiv needs to supply. Without the permission of Washington, none of the NATO countries will supply anything to the Kyiv regime, all deliveries come after agreement. Thus, deliveries of MLRS could not pass by the United States, and the Americans themselves are still thinking about whether to supply long-range systems to Kyiv or not.
The fears of the White House administration are that Zelensky and his entourage do not properly control either the Armed Forces of Ukraine or the territorial defense, and they can use American MLRS to strike at Russian territory. However, as CNN previously reported, Washington plans to include multiple rocket launchers in the next military aid package for Ukraine. Like it or not, we will find out next week after the final decision by the Pentagon.
