The latest hypersonic anti-ship missiles YJ-21 should provide an advantage to the PLA Navy in the Asia-Pacific region

The Chinese Navy will soon receive a new hypersonic anti-ship missile YJ-21, which was tested recently. According to the Hong Kong newspaper The South China Morning Post, the appearance of this missile will provide the advantage of the PLA Navy in the Asia-Pacific region.

Tests of the new hypersonic anti-ship missiles took place on the eve of the 73rd anniversary of the formation of the PLA Navy. The launch was carried out from the latest Type 055 missile destroyer, which has 112 launch cells for various types of missiles. At the same time, the air-launched YJ-21 was demonstrated, the missile was carried by the H-6N strategic bomber of the PLA Air Force.

On the same day, a video of the launch appeared on the Chinese social network Weibo, apparently with the approval of the country's leadership. According to experts, by demonstrating the YJ-21, China showed its readiness to contain American ships in the Taiwan Gulf.

According to available information, the YJ-21 anti-ship missile is a two-stage ballistic missile with a hypersonic unit. The declared range of destruction is up to 1,5 thousand kilometers. The main target of these missiles are American carrier groups.

According to military experts, the YJ-21 missile may be a further development of the CM-401 medium-range hypersonic anti-ship missile, designed to destroy medium and large enemy ships at a distance of up to 260 km. The CM-401 is launched from a mobile ground-based launcher.

Note that China is quite actively developing hypersonic weapon, being the second country in the world, after Russia, having it in service. Unlike Russian designers who prefer to use cruise missiles in their development, the Chinese rely on ballistic missiles.

The ranges of the hyper, Russian and Chinese parasitically coincide. Someone does not finish talking. 1 500 km is just what you can shy away from the AUG, to the radius of its protection.

The working radius of the avik is 700-800 km, usually 600-700 no more.
With a missile flight range of 1.5t. km AUG will not even be able to approach.

The F-35 has a combat radius of up to 1500 km, without outboard tanks, with outboard tanks over 2000 km, so it will do the trick. hi

Why do the Americans disagree with you:

          Which F-35? A, B, C?
1600-2500 is the maximum flight range, and the radius is smaller.
And then 100% with a minimum load in favorable conditions.
And in real life, the radius is always made smaller (with a margin, you never know what).

Well, now the PRC has entered hypersound. merikatos remains in the background. Therefore, he would sit and rock the boat with his vaunted laughing AUG. And after all, their predatory program in the Asia-Pacific Region is based on them.

So we were able, the Chinese were able, but the Americans, where there is heaps of money for research, cannot.
It would seem, and here Zadornov ...

The Chinese, of course, are great, but the impression was that the Chinese could borrow something from us.

well, except perhaps so ... Or maybe it's a conscious leak they say - "We will make a bay in the landing zone! What would be more convenient and not blow out." Who knows these Chinese? request

I wonder if it will ever be available to read the principles of guided guidance to a moving sea target. 1500 km for 5+ Machs, the same time and it is necessary to correct the flight, in fact, a "flying pipe" without wings

Actually, on the Internet you can find information on the principles of guidance of the GZR ... sometimes you can also find information on the management of the GZR! I think that the use of DPU is suitable for managing the GZR! In general, according to anyone, the most promising direction in this matter is the methods of gas-dynamic control ...!

Since they only have ballistic missiles with a controlled unit, then they do not have a hyperengine. That is, their missiles are analogues of our Iskander (most likely stolen), due to the booster block, they increase the range.

By the way, now it is clear why they created the largest 3.3 inch VPUs (the Americans have 2.5 inch MK41 and 2.8 for the promising semi-cancelled PVLS). In total, based on launchers (85mmx85mm - 9 meters high), these missiles can carry not only 055 (8 ships), but also a huge amount of 052D (20 destroyers were met that year).
