Russian armored vehicles "Buran" will be produced in Armenia

The Armenian army is starting to implement a program for the transition to armored vehicles as part of the general rearmament of the troops.

According to the Armenian Military Portal resource, Yerevan signed a contract providing for the joint production of Buran vehicles for the needs of the Armenian Armed Forces. A workshop for assembling equipment has already been erected on the territory of the country, and soon the first armored vehicles will begin to enter the units.

Buran is a product of the Russian company Nizhegorodskoe aviation society". The model range of the brand is represented by modifications of the SS (basic armored chassis) and ARS 6 (armored personnel carrier), which, most likely, will go into service with the Armenian army. Buran ARS 6 has a load capacity of up to 10 tons, the protection level corresponds to STANAG-2), engine power up to 210 hp. with six speed manual or automatic transmission.

The BURAN armored car can be supplied both ready for operation and as a SKD (large-assembly kit) for local production in any country in the world

Apparently, the Armenian authorities have chosen just the second option for procurement.

As explained, the customer can place any combat modules on the equipment. In what equipment the Buranas will be supplied to equip the Armenian troops is unknown. Perhaps, by analogy with the BA "Tiger" in the Russian army - in a variety of configurations, both with weapons and without it.
