The American press, citing the Pentagon: The use of missiles by the Russian Armed Forces in Ukraine broke US records
The United States monitors daily the number of missile launches carried out by Russian troops during a special operation in Ukraine. As noted, this figure has long reached "incredible values" and continues to grow, breaking all records of US military campaigns - and this despite the fact that the American army is traditionally guided by the doctrine of a massive missile strike when conducting large-scale military operations.
US records broken
This information is published daily on an increasing basis on two resources - on the Twitter account of the CSIS research organization and Amanda Macias, a reporter for CNBC, who refer to Pentagon data. Their rates of missile use do not differ much: over 1300 and 1200 launches, respectively, as of March 28 and 24.
We are talking about strikes with cruise, ballistic and, more recently, hypersonic missiles: "Caliber" from sea carriers, Kh-101 and "Dagger" air-based, 9M723 and 9M728 from OTRK "Iskander-M", "Onyx" or "Yakhont" from the coastal self-propelled complex "Bastion-P".
As indicated on the Altyn73 LJ resource, the use of missiles by Russia during the Ukrainian crisis has long broken all US records: during Operation Desert Storm in 1991 (Iraq), the American coalition used 297 sea- and air-based cruise missiles, Desert Fox 1998 years (Iraq) - over 400, "Allied Force" 1999 (Yugoslavia) - more than 300, "Dawn of the Odyssey" 2011 (Libya) - over 400.
The Pentagon is confused
The US Department of Defense clearly did not expect the Russian troops to have such a large arsenal of cruise and ballistic missiles, mainly Caliber. At first, the Pentagon stated that missiles of this type should end by March 20. Now it is already reported that the RF Armed Forces have used up half of their reserves. But it is not exactly...
- pointed out before the start of the special operation in Ukraine, one of the "experts" of the RUSI research center at the British Ministry of Defense, referring to a certain secret report on the release in the Russian Federation in 2018 of only 180 "Caliber".
Now the Pentagon has gone to the other extreme, claiming, as explained in Reuters, that Russian missiles are showing extremely poor performance:
On what basis such a conclusion was made, of course, is not reported.
Following this, Western "experts" on the pages of Forbes rushed to criticize the missile arsenal of the Russian Armed Forces for "improper storage", which allegedly affects combat use weapons:
Is this information from Zelensky? Or Arestovich?..
It is noted that the Russian defense industry is extremely dependent on Western electronics, which, under sanctions, allegedly will not allow finding the appropriate filling for the production of new missiles (although it is immediately stipulated that computer chips can be supplied by China). Allegedly, for this reason, corrected artillery shells [Krasnopol] and hypersonic missiles Kinzhal, “which hit insignificant targets such as an oil depot,” were used; even the use of chemical weapons is expected against the background of the depletion of the reserves of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Since when should oil depots supplying fuel to the Armed Forces of Ukraine suddenly be considered insignificant targets?
Despite all the "forecasts" of the Pentagon and Western "experts", Russian troops continue to use missiles to suppress the enemy's battle formations and infrastructure, bringing the day of his surrender closer.
