Border guards who voluntarily laid down their arms from Snake Island were brought to Sevastopol
“Posthumously awarded” border guards from Serpent’s Island were brought to Sevastopol, who, according to Zelensky, all perished, “defending Ukraine from the aggressor.” All 82 "dead" border guards are alive and well and do not even need medical attention.
Today, February 26, 2022, the Shakhtar rescue tug arrived in Sevastopol, carrying a group of Ukrainian border guards who had surrendered on Zmeiny Island. As stated on this occasion by the Deputy Commander of the Black Sea fleet Major General Mikhail Yasnikov, short-term legal procedures will be carried out against Ukrainian border guards, after which they will be released home. Sending them to Ukraine will be coordinated with the Ukrainian side, with whom has not yet been reported.
Yasnikov said.
It is emphasized that none of those who folded weapon does not need medical care, they are fed and watered, provided with rations and water.
Earlier, the Ukrainian media widely covered the "feat" of the Ukrainian border guards, who allegedly died defending the Serpent's Island in the Black Sea off the coast of Odessa. It was reported that the garrison of the island took an unequal battle with the guards cruiser of the Black Sea Fleet "Moskva" and the patrol ship "Dmitry Rogachev" and "heroically died" while trying to repel the landing. President of Ukraine Zelensky delivered a speech in which he remembered the "heroes of the Serpent" and said that all 82 servicemen of the garrison were presented to the "Hero of Ukraine", posthumously, of course.
However, as it turned out, none of the defenders of the island was eager to lay down their lives for Zelensky and his team, the border guards preferred to lay down their arms and return home to their families.
