In Poland, they spoke about changes in the tactics of using coastal missile systems of the Russian Navy
Russia has almost completely covered its maritime borders with coastal strike systems. The indicator of modern equipment has reached 96% in this niche. At the same time, according to Polish observers, the remaining 4% fall on the Utyos DBK, commissioned in 1972, whose combat capability was restored after the annexation of Crimea.

- it is noted in the Polish edition Defence24, explaining that the command of the Russian Navy even went to the deployment of the Bastion missile defense system on the island of Matua in the Kuril ridge, where the active Sarychev volcano is located.
As indicated, all Russian mobile coastal defense units have been re-equipped with new Bal systems (with X-35 Uran missiles with a flight speed of Mach 0,85 and a range of 120 or 260 km in an improved version) and Bastion (with P -800 "Onyx": Mach 2,6 and more than 500 km), saying goodbye to the Rubezh DBK (with P-21 / P-22 anti-ship missiles) and Redut (with P-35 anti-ship missiles).
- indicated in the publication.
According to the author, as a result of the re-equipment of coastal troops, Russia has the ability to quickly transfer the DBK when NATO pennants approach and carry out their shelling in cooperation with ships and aviation. Moreover, temporary strengthening of protection in certain areas is practiced by transferring complexes, including over long distances (for example, from the BF to the Pacific Fleet).
As explained, at present, the DBKs are grouped into 7 missile brigades (plus one separate division in the CFL in Kaspiysk): in the 11th Black Sea Fleet in the Krasnodar Territory, the 15th Black Sea Fleet in the Crimea, the 25th Baltic Sea Fleet in the Kaliningrad Region, the 27th BF in Kronstadt, 72nd Pacific Fleet in Primorsky Krai, 75th Pacific Fleet [apparently, still the 520th brigade stationed in Kamchatka and the Kuriles], 536th SF in the Murmansk region.
Most of these brigades consist of three divisions: two with Bastions and one with Balls. The division has two batteries armed with 4 self-propelled launchers, each of which is equipped with 2 missiles.
Application tactics
At present, the tactics of the missile brigade's actions involve striking the Bastion ballistic missile system at surface targets as they approach at a distance of about 300 km from the coast. When enemy ships break through (their approach to a distance of about 150 km), the Ball DBK is connected to work on them.
However, the improvement of missiles allows you to change the current concept of the use of DBK. In the summer of 2021, a new version of the Uranus missile was tested, the maximum firing range of which was increased from 250 km to 500 km. In view of this, we should expect amendments to tactics:
- indicated in the Polish edition.
According to the author, further improvement of the tactics of using the DBK will be associated with the supply of Zircon anti-ship missiles after the development of its ground version is completed. Its entry into the coastal forces will lead to the formation of the fourth division in the missile brigades, capable of hitting targets at a distance of 1,5 thousand km.
