American edition: the United States is considering the option of transferring helicopters intended for the Afghan army to Ukraine

44

Ukraine may receive helicopters intended for the Afghan army. According to the Defense Blog portal, a batch of rotorcraft may enter US military assistance.

According to the publication, which in turn refers to CNN, the Biden administration is considering the option of supplying Ukraine with Mi-17V5 and Mi-8MTV helicopters purchased by the United States for the Afghan army, but not delivered to Afghanistan due to recent events in this country. According to the portal, the Pentagon insists on sending.

Thus, already this spring, Ukraine may receive one or two helicopters out of six planned for transfer. In total, five Mi-17V5 and one Mi-8MTV can be included in military assistance.

Whether Kiev will receive helicopters or not is still unknown, since there have been no official statements on this topic. It is known for certain that the White House is considering sending military advisers and some military equipment to Ukraine, but there is no mention of helicopters there. There is information that the Pentagon is not opposed to sending to Ukraine some of the equipment that was planned to be sent to Afghanistan, but again without specifics.

If you pay attention to the latest statements of Ukrainian politicians, then again, there is no mention of the likely delivery of helicopters. The last time they were mentioned in Kiev was a few months ago in the context of "it would be nice if we could get what was supplied to the Afghan army."

Meanwhile, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov said that Kiev needs as much as possible weapons from partners. According to him, the Ukrainian authorities handed over to the United States a list of weapons that they would like to receive. Danilov refused to voice this list.

And where will they get these helicopters? Will they buy it from the Taliban or will they steal it from Uzbekistan and Tajikistan? So they will not reach the range from Termez to Vukaina. request

They didn't sell them... they bought them with their own credit. Looks like they didn't even put it in. But since the Taliban showed them cookies, now they don't know what to do with them. In the USA they are not needed, there are enough of their own.

What does Russia say about this? It turns out the transfer to third parties, bypassing our permission. Try to sell the equipment to another country if it contains any node from the USA, without the consent of the USA. They will immediately rear up and "cut off" everything.

Where? Uzbekistan will give Afghan helicopters to who knows who in exchange for crap on its border because of a showdown with the Taliban? Are you sure? what

Who told you that these helicopters are in Termez? Where did you read this?
They simply decided that the Americans were aiming at the helicopters that had flown from Afghanistan.
So they bought about a hundred helicopters from us for Afghanistan and handed them over to them for free. Not everything was transferred. I don’t know which route the helicopters were taken from Russia and where they concentrated, I think you do too. On helicopters, before the transfer, the avionics were changed according to their standards. Apparently talking about those turntables that were not under modernization. Where is the question? And they were not handed over to the Afghans in connection with the well-known events.

A few helicopters will not fundamentally change anything, and even a hundred will not change. We need pilots, trained and trained, infrastructure, supplies and maintenance for such machines. In a word, a system that will be able to cope with a new volume of weapons, and this cannot be created in a few days, this is many months of work, and Ukraine may no longer have this time.

So for the "eights" all this stuff in Ukraine (from trained people to engines) in bulk. It was safe to call the Ukrainian SSR the center of aviation during the Soviet Union.

In your opinion, helicopters from Kazan or Ulan-Ude, built for Afghanistan, were first transferred to the Oklahoma region and only then to Afghanistan? For all such equipment, the buyer gives the so-called. end user certificate, i.e. an obligation that the product will not be transferred to third countries without the consent of the manufacturer. Well, Russia is unlikely to agree to the redirection of helicopters to Ukraine.

Do you think that turntables are still in stock in Ulan-Ude? Deliveries went through the bases of the Yankees in Iraq. It is possible that "things" are still there, perhaps at one of their bases in BV.

An end user certificate is required not for all equipment, only for military equipment. For some reason, I doubt that the Mi-8/17 went like a military commissar, rather a dual purpose - it’s easier for everyone.

Well, this is not serious, who does business like that?! It is necessary to transfer already delivered, on credit and self-delivery.

It’s simple, the Americans gave us money to print, we delivered helicopters) for the states they are free, so they don’t care where to put them

Actually, maybe I'm wrong, when buying helicopters, as in this case for Afghanistan, force majeure is stipulated, and the transfer of goods, products, weapons to a third party without the permission of the country of origin is not done until the goods are returned to the manufacturer. You need to read the sales contract. soldier

Rather, the Association of Helicopters of Russia. After all, the Mi brand belongs to them. We will be given the opportunity to put a bolt on all sanctions for the supply of our products with American components, even if striped against. They themselves created a precedent - eat.

on the Moscow Ring Road near Lyubertsy that year I saw the Mi-8, apparently experimental -AMTSh with the front turret NPPU-28 under the 30-mm automatic gun like the Mi-28N
I can't find any pics of this car.
similar to the Mi-8MNP-2 for the border. FSB troops - there really is a place

So these helicopters and their transfer to Ukraine have been talked about since December last year. Until now, they cannot convey and transmit?
Kiev needs as many weapons from partners as possible
Each Ukrainian has an M-4 (AK is also possible), a machine gun in every hut, a farm must have at least one Javelin, and a city in the state of Bayraktar to boot ...

Haven't you heard? Citizens are given machine guns and ammunition to organize a partisan movement. Turbats grow like mushrooms. Women are torn off from children and they are going to drive under Russian tanks ..... yes. sur.
It is high time to drive such power away. But the gray mass does not see beyond the nose and feeding, and Ze takes advantage of this, continuing to grimace in his Office.

Interestingly, according to established practice, the manufacturer, that is, Russia, can block the supply of its weapons. States regularly do this and block the supply of anything if the product contains Amer components or technologies. Of course, the elves can score and break the rules, but we can also score and break them ... At one time, there was a very good decision with Dudayev's dangerous aircraft.

can be blocked. but this only works between partners. but if there is no relationship, in case of violation of the agreements, at most you can not supply them with spare parts or sign new deals on helicopters.

They abandoned their allies from Afghanistan, and the Taliban even more so captured the equipment for the army.
Unless they store helicopters and equipment in some batches in their states.
