In the XVI century, the Russian army was one of the most equipped in artillery, which at that time was called the "outfit." Mass production of weapons was organized in Russia under Peter the Great. In 1707, with the support of European experts, the Olonetsky (Petrovsky) arms factory was founded. In 1712, the “Gun yard” began its work in St. Petersburg. And in XNUMX it began story legendary weapons factory in Tula. In 1721, weapons production was opened in Sestroretsk.
