Ukrainian border guards will receive 20 special-purpose maritime security ships (as boats are called in Ukraine) of French design, 15 of which will be built in France, and 5 at the Nikolaev shipyard "Nibulon". At the conclusion of the contract, it was decided to install Ukrainian weapons on the boats, that is, an artillery installation and machine guns. Currently, the construction of ships is already underway, and weapons still no.

According to the Ukrainian press, the issue was resolved with one type of weapon, or rather, they decided on a machine gun. All boats will receive a 12,7 mm DShKM aft machine gun. The corresponding agreement has already been concluded with the state enterprise "Experimental Design Center of Shipbuilding". Specialists of the GPTsK must develop a special pedestal for installing the DShKM machine gun on it, as well as its attachment to the stern of the boat. The machine gun itself is planned to be stored in a special box and installed on the pedestal, if necessary.

But with an automatic cannon in Kiev, they will not be able to decide. On similar boats for other countries, in particular Algeria, a bow automatic 30-mm DS30B cannon was installed, but Kiev wanted a "domestic" one. Today, Ukraine produces three automatic 30mm cannons, which are a complete clone of the Soviet / Russian automatic 30mm 2A42 cannon. Two under the name ZTM-1 and ZTM-2 are produced in Kamenets-Podolsk, LVG-30 in Lvov. It is possible that one of these clones will receive the boats. Although the option with the installation of a foreign-made combat module is quite likely.
