The Ministry of Defense continues to re-equip the motorized rifle units of the Eastern Military District with a new machine gun. According to the press service of the district, the party weapons entered the Amur Combined Arms Army.

According to the report, a batch of new AK-12 assault rifles entered service with the motorized rifle unit of the Amur Combined Arms Army, stationed in the Khabarovsk Territory. The number of weapons supplied was not reported, the machines were supplied as part of the state defense order and the rearmament program. It is emphasized that the servicemen of the formation will soon go to the training grounds, where they will zero in new machine guns.

The new AK-12 assault rifles are intended to replace the AK-74M Kalashnikov assault rifles in service with the troops. It is emphasized that AK-12s have increased barrel wear resistance due to new technologies used by the manufacturer. In the machine, the shortcomings identified by the servicemen on the first samples of weapons received for trial operation in the troops have been corrected.

The AK-12 of 5,45 mm caliber has an increased accuracy of fire and improved ergonomics. The stock is foldable, adjustable in length, there is a Picatinny rail on the receiver. A 40-mm grenade launcher is installed on the machine.

Deliveries of AK-12s to the Russian army began in December 2018, although the Ministry of Defense announced the adoption of the assault rifle only in the spring of 2019. The first three-year contract implies the supply of more than 150 new AK-12 5,45 mm and AK-15 caliber assault rifles to the troops. 7,62 mm.

Is it very different from the AK47 / 74?

It is emphasized that AK-12s have increased barrel wear resistance due to new technologies used by the manufacturer.

It is interesting what kind of technology, but not chrome plating, since chrome plating reduces accuracy, but here it is vice versa.
AK-12 5,45 mm has an increased accuracy of fire

What does accuracy have to do with it - we are talking about wear resistance. Somehow I had a chance to manually saw the trunks of AKM and AK-74 for the introduction to the urn. So AKM is easy, almost like a sawn-off cut to make from a three-ruler, but with AK-74 it was hard, the steel is very hard.

Amur combined arms army stationed in the Khabarovsk Territory
Something did not understand what the speech is about? In the Amur region, the 35th combined-arms army, in the Khabarovsk kr. was 15 OA, in Primorsky kr. 5 OA. A new army with the name Amurskaya appeared in the Khabarovsk region?
where they will carry out the sighting of new machines.
As a lieutenant in the distant 70s, he was constantly engaged in zeroing weapons not only for the platoon, but also for the company. The event is necessary and desirable to be held a couple of times a year.

Not a bad apparatus, only with calibers, as always, crap, do something new to the end and not to the floor of your foot, 5,45 ricochet from the grass + wind blows 7,62 slow and heavy: (derivation weight, x initial speed) a 6,5 Grendel would be just right, the whole world has already understood, as always, we will catch up in 50 years ...

The state defense order was late with the release of products, and the adversary
Did you have time to prepare with the reservation of personnel?
