Israel Defense Ministry approves the purchase of American heavy transport helicopters CH-53K King Stallion

24

Israel can finally begin the procedure for the purchase of American heavy transport helicopters CH-53K King Stallion, the ministerial arms commission approved the purchase of helicopters for the IDF. A positive decision was made on Monday, November 29th.

The CH-53K King Stallion helicopter is to replace the CH-53 Yas'ur helicopter, which entered service in 1970, in the Israeli army. The delivery time has not yet been determined, the whole point is that Israel wants to introduce new generation avionics on new helicopters, developed by local companies, and the US Department of Defense has not yet given permission for this. In total, it is planned to purchase from 10 to 15 helicopters.

The fact that Israel chose the CH-53K King Stallion as a new transport helicopter became known back in 2017. The other two contenders were the Bell Boeing V-22 Osprey tiltrotor and the Boeing CH-47 Chinook "flying carriage". In February of this year, the Minister of Defense approved the choice of a new transport helicopter, now it comes to purchasing.

CH-53K King Stallion is a heavy transport helicopter with a maximum take-off weight of about 40 tons. The machine can carry over 12 tons of cargo on an external sling, and its cargo hold can accommodate up to 55 passengers. The crew of the helicopter is from two to five people - in addition to the two pilots, it can include three shooters that provide all-round protection.

The maximum flight range of the CH-53K is 840 km, the speed is 315 km / h. The helicopter is equipped with active and passive protection systems - in particular, the armored hull protects the crew and passengers from small-arms fire weapons, and active protection systems can protect the machine from damage by missiles.

No, Anatoly. Free, just give it to the neck. But even this, you still need to earn.

hi And here this question is unclear

Are they not new from the US Department of Defense stocks? I think that "Sikorsky" does not care what to put on his helicopters, as long as it fits, does not reduce performance, it is safe, and most importantly PAID

Israel wants to install its systems at the stage of installation at the assembly plant.
It is not profitable for the Americans, because then they will be deducted from the payment of their system.
In general, we must come to a compromise in terms of recalculations.

But the cost of labor remuneration will be added to the recalculation of the structure, these systems must also be integrated into the structure itself, so that it can come out even more expensive

            It's right.
Usually those and fin. specialists on both sides are thinking over and counting all this.
You can easily go out and even more expensive.

Well, where are you aiming, gentlemen, Israelis within a radius of 840 kilometers? Or is there a jump airfield too? Will you land on Tehran? Or dump the load to someone? And to whom? And what kind of load? Not for good this acquisition.

Powerful car. Judging by the performance characteristics, about half of the Mi-26. In any army in the world, such a transport is useful.

Not half, 3/4 somewhere, it is clear that if MI-26T2V was already serial, Israel would not have bought it in any way, but, for sure, on credit for 100500 years, and then they will forget about debts

Fundamental design is a rare case in the West when engineers have prevailed over marketers in design.
Although from the point of view of aerodynamics is imperfect.

In the sense of a purchase? With American taxpayer money?
It is time in the United States to ban dual citizenship for officials.

I think Sikorsky would have been shot here in 1939.
Don't even argue, because in the early 40s
finished with the experts to throw.

But the handsome man, of course (Igor Sikorsky), created a colossus - a concern.

    And this helicopter is handsome
    dear to see.

        I am not Sikorsky.
In those years, no one from my family was killed,
only uncle Yuri was punished for violating the postscript -
After graduating from college, he rushed to the mother in the village.
Uncle Kuznetsov Boris Dmitrievich, awarded the Order of the Red Banner,
stopped the demolition team in Volokolamsk during the offensive.
The plane was delivered to Moscow.
Buried at Troekurovsky. With a broken spine, I was dying for several months,
a boy of 15 years old.
A bridge and a street in the city, school No. 2 in the city and a school in Moscow are named after him.
Grandfather Timofei Stepanych Aravin lay down in the Red Hill of Novgorod,
personally removing the reservation of the collective farm chairman, with five children.
He went to the front on June 22.
He died after returning from the first wound. Sapper.
And you did / did not shoot.
I was shot by the collapse of the USSR, when, having received the diploma of the PGS IISS,
a boy of twenty-three years old, came to the cranes cut into scrap metal and plundered cars in the office that sent me to study in the direction.
For 7 years he worked as a loader, forwarder, storekeeper, cashier.
Because the country was lying on its back. Lost generation.
