Chinese professor spoke about the creation of anti-satellite weapons

19

The arms race is entering near-earth space, the militarization of outer space continues. According to the South China Morning Post, the new anti-satellite weapon developed in China.

Chinese designers have developed a new robotic device capable of penetrating the nozzles of spacecraft engines and placing explosives in them. The project is classified, but some details about the new weapon were revealed by Professor Sun Yongzhong in his article for Electronic Technology & Software Engineering magazine in September.

According to the publication, the new device, developed by specialists from the Hunan Defense Polytechnic Institute and, as it is claimed, has already been successfully tested, is intended for the controlled detonation of enemy spacecraft in orbit. The device, equipped with explosives, penetrates the engine nozzle, is fixed there and awaits the command to detonate.

After activation, the device detonates, while the blast wave is directed inside the device, thereby incapacitating the satellite. Outside, the nozzle remains intact and the detonation can be mistaken for an engine malfunction.

It is noted that new weapons are being developed as part of a project to create new warheads, tests were carried out at a ground facility. It is not known whether the new device was launched into space to conduct "full-scale tests," but the day before, the Shijian-21 spacecraft was sent into orbit to clean up space debris.

Several countries are actively engaged in the development of anti-satellite weapons; the United States, Russia and China have achieved the greatest successes to date. India, which is actively developing anti-satellite missiles, and France, which gives preference to laser systems, is stepping on their heels.

And then the Chinese professor was not invited to the ah-ah-ay in the Chinese KGB? Something the Chinese began to voice a lot of such information. And publicly. Authorized information leak?

Insidious laughing and such entertainers! lol they will come up with a joke ... this should be docked imperceptibly, and when the satellite's engines are launched, the device should stay in the nozzle and not burn out ... wonderful lol

Most likely it is infa there and developed.

From! I agree with you. It remains to tell about the WS-15 that everything is in chocolate and flies.

Correction engines on nitrogen are working! Medium resistance = 0.

      It looks like it.

Such technologies are usually silent if possessed, and shouted if not possessed. "I scared you before the fight, so I already got an advantage" ...

Probably yes. Otherwise, the professor will not have long to walk in the wild.

And what will the Chinese call this, while an unnamed device? I wonder how in Chinese it will sound: "rectal suppository or hemorrhoidal suppository"? what Or maybe the Chinese will again prefer an English abbreviation like RS or HS? recourse

I'm wondering who will inspect the appearance and safety of the nozzle there?

It also flies into the reactor cooling shaft, and is induced using the Force wassat
I just don’t understand why it’s so difficult? Why is it bad to crash into the hull or make an explosion on the hull? All the same, micrometeorites and small space debris, not tracked by the tracking stations, has not been canceled, let alone consider in detail what exactly is with the satellite, at best in the form of a picture of a telescope with a resolution of a centimeter, or even a couple per pixel, but most likely just according to telemetry data, it will definitely not succeed.

We have all seen the docking of spaceships with orbital stations more than once, and we are well aware of what a complicated piece of jewelry it is. Using all types of guidance systems, both manual and automatic. With a 100%, pre-known location of the docking stations, taking into account their sizes, and then sometimes problems arise.
And then a flea flies up and hits the engine nozzle of an unknown size. Well, not bullshit?

    More like a fake.
Any deliberate damage to the satellite is critical, because even if there are redundant systems, they can hardly cope with the consequences of the explosion, especially inside the apparatus. After the explosion, the impulse of the scattering of the fragments will lead to the loss of controllability and orientation of the apparatus, therefore, there will be no possibility of transmitting telemetry information and messages about engine damage. What is the point of manipulating the "introduction" of explosives into the nozzle of the apparatus ?.
More practical is the remote detonation of a cumulative warhead.
