One of the scenarios of the Ukrainian maneuvers "United Efforts - 2021" was to repel a simultaneous massive air attack by enemy aircraft and cruise missiles on strategic targets. They were carried out at the Yagorlyk training ground in the Kherson region.
This is reported by the command of the Air Force of Ukraine.
In training launches of guided anti-aircraft missiles, combat crews of the S-300, Osa, Buk-M1 and S-125 air defense systems were involved. Su-25 attack aircraft, Su-27 and MiG-29 fighters, as well as Soviet drones Tu-141 "Strizh" and Tu-143 "Flight", which are part of the unmanned systems VR-2 and VR-3.
As the commander of the Ukrainian anti-aircraft missile forces Boris Genov said, an environment was created in the sky that simulates a massive attack of cruise missiles and aviation enemy. It is noted that the air defense calculations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have successfully coped with the assigned tasks. At this stage, the launches were imitation, and at the next stage, the firing of combat guided anti-aircraft missiles was provided.
Tu-141 "Strizh" and Tu-143 "Strizh" is a reusable Soviet operational-tactical unmanned aerial vehicle developed by the Tupolev Design Bureau. The difference between the two drones lies in their range. If the first one can overcome several hundred kilometers, then for the second the limit is several tens of kilometers.
