In Zlatoust developed a submachine gun to replace the PP-91 "Kedr"
Special forces units of law enforcement agencies will soon receive the new KEDR-PARA submachine gun. The novelty was developed in Zlatoust and is already entering the stage of state tests.
The submachine gun was developed on its own initiative by the Zlatoust Machine-Building Plant to replace the PP-91 Kedr submachine gun currently in service with security officials. This August this weapon has already been successfully tested in the departments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, following the results of tests, some changes were made to the design regarding the installation of Picatinny rails. State tests of the new submachine gun are scheduled for early 2022.
As the name implies, the PP "Kedr-PARA" was created on the basis of the PP-91 "Kedr" submachine gun. The new weapon uses a 9X19 mm cartridge. The submachine gun is designed for close combat in urban environments.

On the official website of "Zlatmash" the following tactical and technical characteristics of PP Kedr-PARA are given: caliber - 9 mm, cartridge - 9x19, total length with butt - 540 mm, total length without butt - 312 mm, weight without cartridges - 1,8 kg, weight with cartridges - 1,85 kg, magazine capacity - 20 and 30 cartridges, sighting range - up to 200 meters, rate of fire - 800-1000 rpm.
Let's remind that PP-91 "Kedr" (Design by Evgeny Dragunov) was developed in the early 90s by order of the USSR Ministry of Internal Affairs. The weapon is in service with many law enforcement agencies, incl. in the divisions of the Russian Guard, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Federal Penitentiary Service.
