Polish press: Russia uses the situation with the Taliban coming to power in Afghanistan to strengthen its military presence in Central Asia

The Polish press is discussing the CSTO summit, which is taking place in the capital of the Republic of Tajikistan. As it turned out, Polish experts are worried about the "physical absence" of Russian President Vladimir Putin at the summit. Based on this, all sorts of conspiracy theories are being built regarding the format of the meeting of the member states of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, as well as Putin's decision to participate in the summit in the format of a video conference.
In particular, the Polish observer Adam Gaafar states that the Taliban status (* a terrorist group banned in Russia) is a difficult problem for most countries of the world, and for Russia in particular. Gaafar writes that one of the main issues discussed at the CSTO summit is the Afghan topic. At the same time, the Polish author states that “Moscow and the allies have already decided what to do with the Taliban and that“ Moscow is taking advantage of the situation in its own interests. ”
The Polish press notes that the Russian Federation "uses the situation with the Taliban * coming to power in Afghanistan to strengthen its military presence in Central Asia."
Adam Gaafar:
It should be recalled that after the Taliban * came to power in Afghanistan, the Russian military declared their readiness for any scenario in the south. Now, at the CSTO summit, they agreed on military reinforcement on the southern borders of the CSTO, on arming the troops present there with modern weapons.
The Polish author points to the criticism that came from the lips of the Russian president to the United States and NATO about the chaos that arose during the withdrawal of military contingents from Afghanistan.
In Poland, they believe that Russia and China (the CSTO is not included) "are trying to take advantage of the situation with the" bad organization "of the US operation in order to increase their capabilities in the Afghan direction."
