Taliban in Panjshir found containers of Soviet-style weapons belonging to Masud's forces

Representatives of the Taliban terrorist group (* banned in Russia) disseminate data on the discovery of another warehouse with weapons and ammunition belonging to the militia of Ahmad Zia Massoud. This is an arsenal that the Taliban * discovered in the Panjshir province. This is at least the third "warehouse" of weapons of the so-called Front of the Afghan National Resistance (FANR), which came under the control of the Taliban militants over the past week.

This time, the Taliban * took control of weapons and ammunition, which were stored in metal containers.

These are hundreds, if not thousands, of small arms, including Kalashnikov, SVD, PKK and others. Among the items found by the Taliban in containers in the Panjshir Valley are hand-held anti-tank grenade launchers and rifles of various modifications.

It is noted that the overwhelming majority of small arms are of the Soviet model.

In this regard, it is suggested that these weapons have been stored in containers since at least the 1990s, when the detachments of Masud Sr. operated on the territory of Panjshir.

The militants said that the forces of Massoud Jr. "abandoned everything when they fled from the advancing Taliban forces."

The storage of weapons can hardly be called meeting the standards:

Meanwhile, it became known that the leadership of the Panjshir province, appointed from among the Taliban representatives, is starting work to restore one of the bridges, which the Taliban themselves blew up just a few days ago during an operation against Masud's forces.

Earlier, the Taliban decided to finance the restoration of the Salang tunnel, which was damaged during the fighting.

I once wrote that Massoud the Younger is far from his heroic father, Ahmad Shah Massoud. There are a lot of words, but there is a minimum of deeds, only one request to the United States and Europe for help with weapons and money. At the same time, there are warehouses with weapons near the very territory under control. Maybe he's just weak in spirit, unlike his father?

I think if Massoud the younger had the same support behind his back as the elder, then the result would not have been much different. Well, here, as they say, Selyavi. The eldest, of course, was Leo, but he also fought in different conditions and against another enemy. The younger did not have to cuddle up, but to negotiate with the Taliban. Initially, it was clear that he would not carry this program in "one helmet".
In general, the Taliban proved that they can take and retain power in the country. Now let's see how they are ways to effectively dispose of it.

Such a quantity of weapons in the warehouse confirms that there was no one to distribute them to Masud.
The people do not want to fight for Massoud.
For the Taliban, perhaps, he also does not want to.
Forty years of war will make anyone you want to respect the world.

Why fight for the Taliban? They have already won and, of course, only the Taliban will receive the positions of security officials. Perhaps small detachments of law and order will be allowed on the ground from the locals, but the weapons are not heavier than a pistol, or even a baton will be enough. laughing

Clan traditions are strong in Afghanistan.
In the localities, the chief is by no means an official appointed from the capital, but a respected local elder.
Yes, the official has his own police.
But the clan forces also have their own forces, and they are more effective than the police, since they know all the alignments on the ground.
If the Taliban do not want to fight forever (and they do not want to), they will treat the clans with respect.
Maybe they won't give them tanks, but they won't take away machine guns with grenade launchers.

Duc, on the territory of the weapon of the wrong caliber and the wrong system! And yet ... not for feng shui! And finally, "over the hill" everything is better!

Elbrusiki is also among the trophies. Is it interesting to run them? The Houthis let them go, and even by the grace of Allah they fall. Well, but the Moon, the moon can be launched even in 3500, it is eternal.

It's just a gun dump. With this attitude ... in short, it is understandable why the Taliban beat them.

The storage of weapons can hardly be called meeting the standards:
The stockpiles of weapons were simply abandoned, left to rust. What large-scale deliveries were, and at that time people climbed the trash cans ...

Well, the Chinese AK - the same weapon of the Soviet model, but this does not mean that it was supplied by Russia ... although the Tajiks could.

Rusty containers with no less rusty contents.
Trusting these people with something more technological than an unkillable AK-47 is a waste of money.

    A natural question - Soviet-style or Soviet-made?
Could all this stuff be banal "at killing" DRA pilfered from the army's slaves !!!
So. Just in case. Suddenly it will come in handy. Not useful ...
