Serial production of "bullpup" assault rifles ADS for underwater shooting began in Russia
49
As told in the state corporation "Rostec", Russia has begun the production of ADS assault rifles, which will be used for underwater shooting. They are also capable of being applied on land. This two-medium armament, mainly intended for combat divers, is manufactured by the Central Design and Research Bureau of Sports and Hunting weapons, which is part of the High Precision Complexes holding.
About this news agency TASS said the head of TsKIB SOO Alexander Starostin at the International Maritime Defense Show, which is now in St. Petersburg.
An experimental batch of ADF was delivered to the troops back in 2019. Based on the results of its operation, the weapon was modernized, taking into account the wishes and comments of the military, mainly regarding the convenience of its use.
The bullpup layout principle, on the basis of which the design of the machine was created, makes the weapon more compact. The short length of the ADS does not require a folding stock.
Fire on land can be carried out with all types of 5,45x39 mm ammunition. For shooting in the aquatic environment, special cartridges PSP and PSP-UD are used.
