SIPRI: Nuclear Powers Increase Arsenal of Warheads

23

The nuclear powers are building up the arsenal of nuclear warheads at their disposal. At the beginning of this year, there were more of them than at the beginning of the last year.

This is evidenced by the data provided in the report of the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI).

Although the total number of warheads on the planet has decreased slightly. Now there are 13 units, and at the beginning of 080 there were 2020 more warheads - 320.

On the other hand, states with nuclear weaponsdeployed as part of their operational forces at the beginning of this year 3825 nuclear warheads, although a year earlier there were only 3720. Of these, about 2 thousand units are on high alert and mostly belong to the United States and the Russian Federation.

The extension of New START by Russia and the United States in February this year may have been a relief, but the prospects for additional bilateral nuclear arms control between the nuclear superpowers remain low.

- says SIPRI employee Hans M. Christensen.

Nine states of the world are now officially considered to be nuclear powers. These are the United States, Great Britain, Russian Federation, PRC, North Korea, Israel, India and Pakistan. It is possible that some other countries also possess nuclear weapons.

          =======
          The nuclear tests in South Africa (with the participation of Israel) were exactly the point that confirmed that Israel did have nuclear technology!

        ========
        When Israel asked the states for a nuclear reactor for a nuclear program, then US President Jimmy Carter (then US President) said: "We can transfer this equipment to you, but on one condition: you will never admit that you have the technologies that allow you to create nuclear weapons, especially since you received them from us!".... Israel has fulfilled this condition! And it never admitted that it possesses nuclear weapons ...
        At least that's what it says "well-proven political gossip".....

      Tady oh can be at "respected official owners". For example, he will forget in old age and accidentally press a button. At this point, the terrorists will scream as the return line arrives.

    ... So a vigorous weapon is it for the sake of peace, or .... someone itching to and want someone to prove something, show, scare ???

      It depends on which country this issue applies to. For example, our striped "partners", in the last century in Japan, irrefutably proved its second point, thereby proving that they are the only aggressor country today.

        The obvious, the probable.
        The problem is how to present it to those around, anxious and how they will perceive it.
        The media, social networks, rule the world no longer childishly.

          With the help of the media, they have always tried to rule the world, because it is not for nothing that 90% of the world's media belongs to people who are not at all poor and not socially responsible! Now social networks have also connected to them, also by the way corrupt, private offices, but these are just means of presenting information and for its balance you just need to create an alternative information with a minus sign. Another thing is that using the available means of communication. it became relatively easy for anyone who wished to manage the process of activating the masses, but only if this process is interesting to the aforementioned masses, which means that the authorities need to involve the people in what will be interesting to him - himself! That is, the authorities need to do at least something that will meet the interests and aspirations of the people. Something like this.

            Of course, it was not yesterday that they learned how to do this, but the authorities / groups of influence are no longer just leading the masses where they need to, they have learned to shape the demands of the society / crowd !!!
            Everything has become more cunning, sophistication ... they do not take experience.

    I have always been interested in the question of who and how counted? By the piece or wholesale? Still, they probably take their word for it? So gentlemen (Anglo-Saxons) today cannot be trusted in any way.

      I agree. China has never announced an official figure. Many believe that there are much more than 450-480 units. Israel, Pakistan, India. There is less potential, but still. By the way, Russia also does not provide accurate information on its TNW.

    It's time to give a chance to a new civilization. This development potential has been exhausted. As we polished the club, we continue, only it looks different now ... winked

    Israel is a small-town player, due to territory and carriers.

      Territory yes, but the carriers ... "Jericho 3" quite reach Washington. feel
      Israel has never considered its nuclear weapons as an instrument of influence; it is rather a guarantee that NONE (from the owners of nuclear weapons) will be able to destroy the country and remain unpunished.
      A kind of "dead hand".

    Hope, oh how many died because of them ...
    Where is your Jericho? It is possible to hit the PU and the carriers the first time, including because of the territory.
    Therefore, I wrote that your nuclear only with Arabs and Persians can measure up with pussies.
