J-20 fighters with Russian AL-31F engines will be involved in the parade in Beijing, they do not trust their own engines yet
The Chinese armed forces are preparing for the parade in Beijing's Tiananmen Square to mark the anniversary of the Chinese Communist Party. The Xinhua News Service reported on the rehearsal of the parade, which involved more than 14 troops.
One of the components of the military parade in Beijing will be aviation... In its course, various planes and helicopters should fly over the Chinese capital. Among them is the newest Chinese helicopter Z-8L.
Noteworthy is the information about what kind of fifth-generation fighters will be used by the PLA Air Force during the parade. As it became known, we are talking about J-20 fighters, moreover, equipped with Russian-made engines. These are AL-31F engines.
This kind of information attracts attention due to the fact that some time ago the Chinese press hastened to announce "the solved problem of engines of its own production." Then it was announced the creation of a special fullerene nanocoating, which does not allow the aircraft engine to lose thrust when it reaches operating temperatures. They decided to use such a coating on the WS-10 and WS-15 engines. Then it turned out that the use of this coating leads to excessive fuel consumption.
The use of J-20 fighters with Russian aircraft engines during the aviation part of the parade actually speaks of distrust of Chinese-made engines and, at the same time, of the reliability of Russian power plants. However, it should be noted that in China they are systematically working to eliminate the shortcomings in their own aircraft engines, trying to achieve the appearance of their optimal version.
Earlier it was reported that the latest J-31 fighters (positioned as a carrier-based version) may be shown at the parade in honor of the anniversary of the CPC, but now it became known that they decided to abandon their flights over Beijing.
