Iran continues to create shock drones, expanding the range of adopted drones. Iranian Air Force Commander Brigadier General Aziz Nasirzade said that Iranian engineers have completed work on a new Kaman-22 strike UAV.
The general stressed that the heavy wide-body drone was designed and developed in accordance with the requirements of the country's air force. The new UAV is designed for air strikes and reconnaissance. A line of "smart" ammunition has been developed for it, as well as various optical and electronic equipment.
It is specified that Kaman-22 has a flight range of 3 thousand kilometers and can stay in the air for up to 24 hours. In addition, he is capable of carrying weapons weighing up to 300 kg.
The Iranian Air Force Commander stressed that the new drone is able to significantly enhance the combat capability of the Iranian army.
Military experts note that the Iranian novelty is a copy of the American attack UAV MQ-9 Reaper. The UAV is assembled using American technology, to which Tehran has gained access. It is too early to judge the capabilities of the new drone, since its detailed performance characteristics are not disclosed.
For our part, we note that Iran, despite the sanctions and weapons embargo, managed to reach a fairly solid position among the world leaders in the production of drones.
