Russian character and assertiveness - 28-th special purpose unit "Warrior" of the MIA of Russia
The 28 Special Forces Detachment of the Internal Troops of the Ministry of the Interior of the Russian Federation called the “Warrior” was created in July 2002 in the city of Arkhangelsk.The first head of the unit was appointed Colonel Nikolai Lisakov. He set about forming a detachment and personally selected fighters from the most experienced servicemen, warrant officers and officers. A prerequisite for the candidates was the passage of military service under the contract and the experience of hostilities. The first set and served as the basis for the unit.
The baptism of fighters of the detachment was under the control of colleagues from the squad "Rus". The period from November 2002 to the middle of 2003, part of the 150 squad was sent on a business trip to the North Caucasus, to Chechnya, where they underwent a kind of internship. And after six months, "Warrior" recovered from the first independent operation. The main tasks of the squadron at that time included the search and liquidation of militants and illegal armed groups that operated in Grozny. By the way, most of the subsequent missions of the unit were also related to Chechnya. The total number of trips to the North Caucasus for the entire period of the existence of the “Warrior” was 11. And these trips were not only to the territory of the Chechen Republic. The fighters repeatedly carried out missions, being in the structure of the operational control group in North Ossetia and Alania, and also as part of a joint group of troops in Ingushetia.
Immediately it should be noted that the tasks of the "Warrior" was enough. The fighters took part in numerous special operations to search for and destroy gangsters operating in the underground, provided cover for reconnaissance of roads, were active participants in operational search and reconnaissance operations to detect caches with weapons, found and liquidated the factories that were engaged in the production of low-quality petroleum products, provided protection for the leadership of the Chechen Republic and the Government House.
Thus, the lack of combat experience and say nothing. In many ways, getting it in such a short period of time was provided by the unit commanders: Colonels Alexander Naumenko and Dmitry Karelin.
Arkhangelsk commandos have repeatedly proved their assertiveness and Russian character. These features were reflected in the very name of the unit - "Warrior".
Unfortunately, it was simply impossible to get along with such a dangerous service. For example, during a regular military mission in 2009, squad fighters managed to eliminate the base for training mercenaries, and to destroy 8 militants, two of whom turned out to be the leaders of the gang. But during the operation, the scout-grenade launcher senior sergeant Stepan of Russians was killed.
Earlier, the unit lost three more soldiers. During the operation in Grozny in November 2006 of the year, Ensign Mikhail Nefedovskiy, who was an instructor of a special intelligence unit, died. Two years later, in May, 2008, in the same place, in Grozny, Captain Konstantin Dementyev, who was wounded in the head with a shot from a passing car, was killed. He was a senior assistant chief of staff for technical means of intelligence.
In August, 2008 of the year killed another fighter of the "Warrior" - Sergeant Sergey Makarov. The misfortune occurred during a special operation in the mountains of Vvedensky district.
All the dead fighters were awarded state awards posthumously.
But, despite the fact that the bulk of the work of the detachment falls on the North Caucasus region, Russia also has enough work for it. In addition to the fact that a unit may be involved in the performance of combat missions as in Russia, it may also take part in activities aimed at strengthening the fight against organized crime in the North-West Federal District.
Regularly, fighters of the detachment are involved in joint exercises to prevent terrorist attacks on nuclear facilities. In addition, "Warrior" took part in large state events, in particular, provided security during the celebration of the 300th anniversary of the city of St. Petersburg and the G8 summit.
Every year, soldiers of the detachment pass a qualifying exam for the right to wear a krapovoi beret, which, as we know, is a symbol of valor and honor of the Russian special forces. So now, fifteen soldiers “Warrior” became owners of the maroon beret and serve in the unit. Periodically, detachment fighters take part in competitions between special purpose units, where they consistently demonstrate high professional training.
To date, the detachment is fully transferred to the contractual basis, which is provided for by the Federal Target Program. The same program involves special forces, which are deployed in Nizhny Tagil, Smolensk, Armavir, as well as the 46-I separate operational team, which is located in Grozny.
It is worth noting that the division does not lack candidates. "Warrior" is equipped almost completely. An important help is the fact that the salary of the special forces is much higher than the average soldier, plus food rations and free meals. In addition, it is also important that the housing issue has been practically resolved.
Of course, as elsewhere, not without problems. So, for example, the main reason for leaving a squad is associated with outfits, which in a month can be too much. The fact is that since there are no conscripts here, then all the chores and outfits have to be done by the contract soldiers themselves. And, perhaps, at first glance, there is nothing to worry about. But after all, they come to special forces to gain combat experience, and they can be like army outfits. Therefore, the command of the detachment and warns in advance of all candidates about possible difficulties and problems during service.
But even in spite of all these “pitfalls”, the soldiers of the “Warrior” proudly bear the title of Russian special forces.
