Aerobatic team "Russian Knights" will receive new Su-35С fighters

The military department announced the ceremony of transferring four new multi-role Su-35С fighters to the Russian Knights pilots, which will be held on November 7 at the Kubinka airfield.

On November 7, a festive ceremony will be held at the Kubinka aerodrome for the meeting of the four newest Su-35С multipurpose aircraft, which will be adopted by the Russian Knights aerobatic squadron

- said in a statement.

According to available information, after receiving the Su-35С, the group will continue to operate the Su-30СМ fighters, which it is currently competing in.

The plans for the transition of the Russian Knights to Su-35C fighters were reported back in March this year, but without voicing specific rearmament dates.

"Russian Knights" is the only aerobatic team in the world, showing aerobatics on heavy Su-27 and Su-30SM fighters, which differ from combat aircraft only in color. It was formed on April 5, 1991 on the basis of the 1st aviation squadrons of the Aviation Technology Show Center at the Kubinka airfield. It consists of five pilots: Colonels Andrey Alekseev and Oleg Erofeev, Lieutenant Colonel Sergei Shcheglov, Majors Vladimir Kochetov and Igor Tkachenko.

Why is the Su-30 cm worse for group aerobatics? But constantly the second pilot studies and is always ready to replace.

This year at the MAKS I watched them in detail. And my comrades and I noticed that the Su-30s are really heavier to feel in the air, which was surprising. The aerobatics compared to the solo of the 35s looked as if they lacked energy.

But, by the way, the news about the transition of knights to the Su-35 just at the MAKS in the summer and became known, it is strange that they are only talking about it now. To be honest, it’s also not very clear to me why to drive such cars for demonstrations. Prestige prestige, but everything is done so often with us, primarily window dressing request

Have you read the article carefully? Or did you give comments on the title? The Su-30 will remain, the Su-35 is preferable as an individual aerobatics. "Knights" are primarily advertising, respectively, and planes are needed from the list "for sale".

Not the only one, for Americans in aerobatic teams it takes 18 to 24 hours to "turn" an aircraft into a combat aircraft.

Neither usaf thunderbirds F-16 nor navy blue angels F-18 are heavy fighters.

to "turn" the plane into a combat plane.

In general, they all remain combat aircraft, not formulated correctly.

They are certainly not heavy. But this is due to cost savings. Before the oil crisis in the 70s, both aerobatic teams used the "heavy" F-4 Phantom-2 fighter, and as fuel rose sharply, they switched to more economical options: the Thunderbirds Air Force on the T-38 "Talon", and the Navy Blue angels on the A-4 Skyhawk.

I highly recommend googling Van Halen Blue Angels, the energy clip is just space.
For several years he worked with a guy from Swifts - coordination of movements is simply unreal

    1. The only one - on the Su-27 and Su-30SM;
    2. In addition to aerobatics, knights are also active combat pilots and on their machines perform the entire mandatory set of elements of the combat training course without any alterations. Therefore, they need new cars.

How tired of these "newest" ones. What would not just say the Su-35S. Well at least you were smart enough not to sell the airfield in Kubinka
