Hypersonic Zircon becomes vital for the Russian Navy

192
The Russian Navy is preparing new flight tests of the Zircon cruise missile, Military Watch writes. it weapon Designed to fight enemy ships, capable of speeds up to M = 9 and maneuver in flight, making interception more difficult. Flight range - approx. 1000 km. In this regard, the Russian rocket is unique. Only the Chinese product YJ-100 shows similar range characteristics, however it has subsonic speed.

In the future in arsenals fleet Zircon will complement other anti-ship missiles. The most modern weapons of the Russian Navy are P-800 Onyx and 3M54 Caliber missiles with different speeds and flight ranges. The older P-700 Granite anti-ship missile system, which strikes targets at speeds of 2 M, is also preserved. For its time, it was a revolutionary new weapon, but now it is inferior to modern models.

In the field of shipbuilding, Russia relies on light and medium combat units with advanced weapons. An example of this is the frigate Admiral Gorshkov (pr. 22350) - with a displacement of 5400 t, it carries launchers with 72 cells for missiles of various types. Missile weapons of such a ship should consist of modern models for various purposes.

The Russian Navy is in no hurry to develop heavy platforms, such as cruisers and destroyers, but is actively building smaller ships. The construction of frigates with advanced anti-ship missiles becomes an asymmetric and effective response to larger and more numerous ships of a potential enemy.

For comparison, the British destroyer Type 45 costs approx. 1,3 billion dollars, has a displacement of 9400 tons and carries 48 cells for missiles. US Zumwalt destroyers cost about 7 billion dollars. With a displacement of 16000 tons, they carry 90 missiles. The most powerful anti-ship missiles of Great Britain and the USA are modern modifications of the Harpoon subsonic missile with a range of less than 300 km - and even less in previous versions.

The advantages of Zircon over such weapons are obvious. Just getting a rocket into the ship at speeds M = 8 is enough to disable it. Interception of such anti-ship missiles with modern air defense systems is virtually impossible. Thus, the Admiral Gorshkov and similar ships receive a decisive advantage over the main representatives of the fleets of third countries. The importance and prospects of such missiles can hardly be overestimated - they are becoming a key, vital component of the Russian Navy.

Estimated appearance of the Zircon rocket

It is expected that the tests of the Zircon will be completed in the near future, and in the early twenties this missile will go into service. It should be distinguished by its high cost, which will affect the pace of production and deployment in the fleet. In this regard, the new anti-ship missiles will be deployed on the most advanced and efficient warships serving near the areas of possible armed conflict.

Oh, how many such species were there. I hope in the near future we will really see him.

Single projects that have unjustified expectations. It is impossible to solve all the tasks of the fleet without a balanced group of surface and submarine forces.

Will Gorshkov be in a single execution for 2 fleets?

The key word will be. Why do businessmen set specific tasks and deadlines for hard workers, while a taxpayer, a reserve officer should be content with "breakfasts"? I live in Russia, and its defenses concern me too. The promised 10 "Gorshkovs", firstly, what is the "dead poultice", and secondly, when will they be? All terms are constantly shifted "to the right". Or did we have the Grigorovichs built, as planned, for the Russian Navy?

There are also ICBMs with nuclear warheads, therefore, the small number of future carriers of Zircons is still upsetting, but not fatal.

                Lesha, don’t tear your heart.
"Gorshkovy" is already 6 pieces in varying degrees of readiness, and no later than the beginning of next year will lay another 2 pieces.
                - one in the ranks
                - the second completes state tests and will enter the system by the end of the year.
                - two more finally received a power plant and will go on the chassis no later than 2022.
                - at the beginning of this year, two more 22350 improved versions with an expanded ammunition load were laid (24 aircrafts instead of 16), conditional 22350+
                - Two more of these ships will be laid no later than next spring and construction sites for them are actively being prepared.

But these 8 ships 22350 \ 22350+, only the beginning of the series.
Followed by bookmarks 18 pcs. project 22350M with a displacement of up to 8 tons and 000 UVP for "Caliber", "Onyx", "Zircon".
By the way, about "Zircons". It is already the middle of October, and the Supreme Commander-in-Chief promised by the end of the year to test the Zircon from the carrier ship, say Admiral Gorshkov. So they should soon please.

Apparently, they are not embarrassed by the yachts built by the thieves with money stolen from the people. And, as I understand it, they are ready to beg for the treatment of their children and grandchildren when trouble comes to their home. May they be heard! And as for the fleet, all the "Sarich", "Udalie" will be scrapped in the near future. Cruisers in problem repair. I really don't want to hope for the "last straw". hi

Yes, the presence or absence of yachts from the oligarchs does not greatly affect the possibilities of building a fleet - there was money in the budget before. There was no technological base for the production of full-fledged power plants, as well as a number of other components, as well as delays in bringing to mind the Poliment-Redut shipborne air defense system. Now these problems have been practically resolved. Work begins.
The Atlant cruisers will serve as long as their technical condition allows, and it looks like there will be no more upgrades. Maximum - average repair.
"Sarichs" will serve those that are still combat-ready and will go for decommissioning - there is nowhere to repair the power plant and it is not advisable.
BOD did not work to repair the power plants, so they will support those. condition and wait to replace 22350 \ 22350+ \ 22350M.
If you have noticed, other types of ships are also being laid - two large-capacity displacement vehicles of increased displacement were laid this year. It is possible to bookmark several more ships of this type. It is possible to bookmark UDC helicopter carriers in Kerch next year.
All these are the building blocks of the new fleet, and the main condition for success in this is the creation of a line of gas turbines, diesel engines and running gears with full localization in Russia. This is exactly what our industry has been doing for 5 years, and since the ships began to lay down again, it turned out that this condition was fulfilled.

The October Revolution (which is what the Bolsheviks called it for a long time) was precisely the CONTROVOLUTION in relation to the February revolution - the liberal-bourgeois one. And if you look at the root, then prepared and carried out by his chief counterintelligence Petrograd special military district, General Bonch-Bruevich. In close interaction with Dzerzhinsky and Stalin.
Trotsky was not aware of these plans, and his so-called. The "Red Guard" (recruited from armed criminals) was then caught and exterminated by the Cheka throughout St. Petersburg and the surrounding area. Lenin was in Razliv and ended up in Smolny on the very night of the operation, escaping from the guards.
But the center of the operation was by no means in Smolny, but in the counterintelligence building on the embankment, to which the Aurora was brought in ahead of time. It was a General Staff operation. To save Russia.
In fact, it was like a "revolution from above", only without the Tsar, in whom not only the people in the belligerent country, but also the Army became disillusioned.

99% of the main enterprises under the communists created. Until now they cannot and steal. They would have been created without the Communists and they would have brought money, they would have created competitively capable modern products, and would not have stomped on the technologies of the 60s, as it was almost everywhere in the USSR. And with a greater likelihood, Russia would now have its own widespread brands around the world, as the USA and European countries have now: household appliances, mechanical engineering, automotive, clothing electronics and everything else - but the policy of the CPSU cut it all at the root starting from the 60s and now Russia has to create all this from scratch and maintain fierce competition is expensive and long, so do not expect any sharp economic growth.

If you look realistically, not a single fleet of the world can protect such a number of seas with their coastline. And of the 4 fleets of the Black Sea Fleet and the Baltic Fleet - they have no real value, because they are located in locked water bodies. This was shown by the experience of the Second World War. Separately, the Northern Fleet and the Pacific Fleet are not able to oppose anything to the forces of NATO or Japan. This is even without the USA!

There is no link - I have been browsing the TsAGI Soviet report on blowing similar models in a wind tunnel for a long time on the Internet.

Judging by the report, the DF-17 photo shows an inoperable (hypersound) tail unit of the aeroballistic part detachable from the solid propellant rocket engine - there is no removal of the rudder surfaces of the rudders beyond the end section of the AF body, which clearly indicates a prototype, and not a flying sample.

Aeroballistic rocket flies on a mixed, so-called a quasi-ballistic trajectory with the formation of an aerodynamic supporting force due to the shape of the hull (see the side protrusions of the DF-17) with the aim of increasing the range up to two times compared to a purely ballistic flight.

An additional bonus is that aeroballistic missiles fly above the maximum height of interception of anti-aircraft missiles Patriot and SM-2 (40 km) and below the minimum height of interception of anti-missile THAAD and SM-3 (130 km).

An aeroballistic missile equipped with a solid propellant rocket can start from any carrier, and only the range changes (in the aviation version, the range is maximum due to the summation of the carrier speed).

It is a link, not your opinion on this matter.
And from time immemorial, aeroballistic missiles have been called missiles that, after starting from an airplane, fly along a ballistic trajectory .....
          1. +10
            15 October 2019 18: 45
And the Iskander missile is not aeroballistic, since the aerodynamic quality of its round body is close to zero. Quasi-ballistic is the trajectory of a given rocket's flight - flat, different from a parabola (with the aim of not flying to the minimum interception altitude by transatmospheric anti-missiles).

The cross-section of the DF-17 body is triangular with one of the sides of the triangle facing the earth's surface in flight, plus protrusions along the sides of the body (mini-wings, so to speak), which together creates aerodynamic lifting force at hypersonic speed.

An example of this is the frigate Admiral Gorshkov (Project 22350) - with a displacement of 5400 tons, it carries launchers with 72 cells for missiles of various types.

Not quite correct mention of the total number of cells.
If our enemy's ML-41 installations are universal and are designed to launch both Tomahawks, Standards, Harpoons and Asrok missiles, then this is not the case with Gorshkov. There can be only 16 cruise missiles (2 VShPU with 8 cells), anti-aircraft missiles can be 32 (4 x4 8), for anti-submarine missiles - up to 16 cells with 91R missiles. In total, 64, not 72.

Flight range - approx. 1000 km. In this regard, the Russian rocket is unique. Only the Chinese product YJ-100 shows similar range characteristics, however, it has subsonic speed.

In general, the range of the YJ-100 anti-ship missile is from 550 to 650 km. And it is not entirely clear why it is necessary to compare the characteristics of the Zircon with the Chinese YJ-100 missile, and not with the DF-100 (CJ-100) supersonic missile, which has a range of 2000-3000 km and a speed of 3 to 4M

No - hitting one US Deputy Secretary of Defense will destroy the entire US carrier fleet laughing

Zircon is something ... Oh, here the Amerza try to set Jupiter on fire! It turns out that Jupiter is an almost finished star, consisting of hydrogen, and to start the thermonuclear reaction in its center it lacks 3 more available masses. That is, so that as a result of gravitational compression, the temperature inside rises to 10 million degrees. But he can be helped to light up if you explode a powerful thermonuclear charge inside ... And then two stars will shine in the sky, which will change the Earth’s climate ... The first attempt failed: due to the large radiation on approaching Jupiter, the charge became unusable. A new trial is expected.

In fact, not even a fig will change. The mass of Jupiter is 1000 times less, and the distance is 4 times more. Only during the confrontation. A confrontation once every 12 years. Total radiation is 16000 times less than the sun. We will not notice anything on Earth.

Everything in the future tense again. It's time to start shooting a puppet cartoon about all this.

No, it's fantastic! It’s necessary to let him in with YABCh, then maybe. But will it be equipped with JBL?

And in what fleet are they testing zircon? For 1000 km?

These are articles for non-thinking people at all. An elementary example of the fact that everyone knows that the higher the speed of a bullet, the more important the impulse of rotation power. Then why the stabilizers of the restriction of this rotation are shown on the rocket. In this case, the speeds are much higher.

Those. they haven’t done any nichrome yet, they just decided to test it in the “near” future, but it’s already unique, the best in the world, the fastest, there are no analogues, and also the cheapest, it’s called “don’t touch me, let me dream,” “Hurray patriots” can be proud!

Just getting a rocket into a ship at speeds of M = 8 is enough to disable it

The Americans also invented. And experienced. But not a rocket, but a shell. And not eight swings, but only seven. Shell for railgun gun. They made both a shell and a gun, and even built ships. And experienced. The projectile flew out of the railgun at a speed of 7M, climbed up a hundred kilometers, and at a distance of 200 km from the gun crashed into the ground at a speed of 5M. Tested in real devices. Here’s the gun, here’s the shell, 7 fly out, 5 fly out. Generator, capacitor, wire, everything worked out. Remained a very trifle. After completing the tests two years ago, the US government announced a competition for a guidance system for the projectile. It would seem simpler, all the options are known today, draw a blueprint for a miniature radar or video camera or, at worst, receivers of ZhiPiEs, and put a billion dollars in your pocket. Just nothing that would work at a speed of Mach 5, for these two years, they never came up with. If there was something in Russia or China, then some designer would have passed on the secret for a long time, would have been tempted by a billion. I’d even venture to suggest that no one made a serious bid for the competition. So the idea of shooting railgun from ships died. And yes, they did the tests, all honestly, without fools.

And what about the X-43A - on March 27, 2004, the flight went normally, the third flight set a speed record of 11 km / h (Max 850 = 9,6 km / s) on November 3,2, 16. Or the X-2004A that they started testing back in 51, and as far as we know in 2009, the tests were successful. At least this is practice and not balabolso about the fastest, best and most formidable.

With xyx fifty first a similar story. First announced that it will hit mobile targets. Then only on stationary. But tests have shown that when you try to correct the course even for a stationary target (that is, presumably guidance only by ANN), the rocket falls apart from overloads.

The problem of ramjet rams at hypersonic speeds over which all developed countries are beating, have they decided? How long does it take to answer this question? When will the emir die or the donkey die?

So, we have a fleet, albeit with a small displacement of ships, but they are not inferior to the large ships of the United States and England in terms of combat power. And with the Zircon our fleet will become very dangerous.

The project, of course, is good, but it is eternal - it will be, will be, will be.
At VO, they often wrote about + and - small-tonnage ships and super-mega-missiles, and about the timing
