Washington's second package of sanctions against Russia in the Skripals case will come into force on Monday 26 August. This is reported by the US State Department in its official notice posted in the electronic database of the US Federal Register.
A notice issued by the US Department of State says that on August 26 a document previously signed by the US president will be published on the introduction of a second package of anti-Russian sanctions. From that day, the sanctions will take effect. As specified, the document deals only with those restrictions that Trump signed, no additional restrictions are introduced.
Recall that the American President Donald Trump 2 in August signed a decree on the introduction of a second package of anti-Russian sanctions in connection with the case of poisoning the Skripals in the English Salisbury.
According to Trump’s decree against Russia, the following restrictions are introduced: the United States should prevent the provision of “any loan or financial or technical assistance from international institutions in relation to this country” in non-ruble currency and prohibit American banks from providing any loans or credits to the “government of this country” again in non-ruble currency. In this case, an exception is made for the issuance of loans for "the purchase of food or other agricultural goods or products."
Washington conducted the first package of sanctions in the Skripals case in August 2018, hiding behind the Law on Control over Chemical and Biological weapons", in whose failure to comply with the requirements of which he accused Moscow. The restrictions affected the supply of military products to Russia, as well as dual-use products and technologies.
