Turkey has finished testing Kaplan self-propelled ATGM

In Turkey, the final tests of the latest Kaplan self-propelled anti-tank complex (Kaplan) equipped with the Russian Kornet anti-tank guided missiles (ATGM) have been successfully completed. The complex will soon come into service with the Turkish army. It is reported by TASS with reference to the press service of the company-developer FNSS.
According to the agency interlocutor, the new self-propelled anti-tank complex was tested in various types of terrain, including in the mountains, and confirmed the correctness of the choice of the Russian Kornet as one of the weapon options that showed excellent results when conducting test firing.
The Kaplan complex is expected to enter the Turkish army before the end of this year, while it will be delivered in two versions that differ in armament: one armed with the Russian Kornet ATGM and the second with the OMTAS Turkish missile. The complex was developed as part of the program to renew the Turkish self-propelled anti-tank fleet.
Earlier, the Turkish Defense Ministry announced that in the period before 2021, the country's armed forces would receive 260 units of the Kaplan SPTRK, while the exact number of vehicles with the Kornet ATGM was not called.
Meanwhile, the use of the Russian Kornet ATGM in Turkey is not an isolated one.
