Nikolai Golodnikov. In its place
The name of General Golodnikov is well known to many residents of Stavropol and Stavropol Territory. Not being a native of Stavropol, Nikolay Gerasimovich lived in the regional capital for about forty years, leading one or another important direction for the country and invariably giving himself to the end of the assigned work. Nevertheless, in his homeland, in Yeisk, information about this man is little known even to local ethnographers.
He was a godsend for writers and journalists. Passed all the stages of a flying career (yes, not the most suitable word for Golodnikov) - from cadet to general, who, in fact, created one of the best military in the country aviation colleges, who for a long time headed a number of organizations that were far from fake at that time, who lived a long life and saw a lot. He said that the memory was excellent. Readily - about planes (domestic and lend-lease), his commanders (in the regiment named after B.F.Safonov, he found Boris Feoktistovich himself), comrades, whose names are known to many who are interested in history Great Patriotic War. Pavel Klimov, Nikolai Boky, Pyotr Sgibnev, Pavel Orlov, Pyotr Kolomiets ... Interestingly, he described the enemy nontrivially. In response to questions about himself, he smiled ... and again spoke about airplanes, commanders, comrades. His stories, included in a number of books and repeatedly printed on the pages of newspapers, are not hard to find on the Internet today. We emphasize - they have a lot of interesting and even unique, but not enough Golodnikova himself. A separate, perhaps, is M. Tsybulko's story “The General from the Legend”, largely devoted to the personality of Nikolai Gerasimovich himself, his formation as a fighter pilot and military leader.
With video materials about Golodnikov, the situation is even more complicated. Yes, there was the film “Ice Sky”, one of the participants of which was the eldest son of General Yuri, who spoke about several episodes from his father’s life during his service in the North navy. Former alumni of SVVAULSH created a documentary about the history of the Stavropol Higher Military Aviation School for pilots and navigators, which included the story of Nikolai Gerasimovich about the formation of the university. Fragments of interviews and speeches at commemorative events, in which General Golodnikov almost always participated, were preserved. And yet, unfortunately, there was no complete visual material about this wonderful and useful person for his homeland.

Attempting to understand how from ordinary guys who did not think about a military career, in a short time grew a whole galaxy of excellent commanders. Understand how, after going through the tests of wartime, you can find yourself in a peaceful life and be in demand by society. And finally, to approach the solution of another, equally important question for us: is it possible today the emergence and existence in the present Russian realities of people of this type?
