The Chinese Jilong experienced a slip. Now it remains to take off from the water

The largest Jilong amphibious aircraft in the world (AG600), developed by China, has passed the next test phase. According to a Chinese corporation aviation industry (AVIC), water tests were carried out, during which experts evaluated the glide of the vessel on the water surface at high speed. Tests were conducted at the Zhanghe Hydro Airfield in Hubei Province.

The Chinese Jilong experienced a slip. Now it remains to take off from the water

According to the corporation, from the moment of arrival at the 27 airfield of August of this year, the plane had already passed gliding tests at all speeds, during which it was possible to check the ability to steer in a straight line, the ship’s maneuverability, stability while driving, and also water resistance. The next stage will be a takeoff from the surface of the water, since this stage of testing has not yet been worked out, unlike taking off from an airfield.

Chinese amphibious aircraft "Jilong" (AG600) is being developed from 2009 year. The aircraft is designed to extinguish fires and conduct rescue operations on the water. It is equipped with four turboprop engines, capable of collecting onboard 12 tons of water in 20 seconds. The maximum take-off weight of the AG600 is 53,5 tons, the length of the hull is 39,3 meters, the wingspan is 38,8 meters, and the maximum range is 4,5 thousands of kilometers.

By the way, if the Russian United Aircraft Manufacturing Company (UAC) resumes the production of the A-40 Amphibious Albatross of the Soviet Union, the Chinese AG600 will lose first place among the largest amphibious aircraft, since the Albatross's maximum take-off weight is 90 tons, differences from 53,5 tons of Chinese counterpart.

      No, they could not
after all, the maximum take-off weight of the Albatross is 90 tons, in contrast to the 53,5 tons of its Chinese counterpart.

Do you need it? The times of technical records for the sake of records seem to have passed. And there are certain doubts about the advisability of the Chinese "superseaplane" - although as an anti-submarine would be in the subject in the light of China's defensive concepts.

Although this is the "water" reincarnation of the An-12, the Chinese are still great! They make their own aircraft, but do not buy "across the river".

The myth of copying will disappear only with our arrogance. Apparently, the Chinese need to land on the moon before Russia. Then we will perceive them as they deserve it. Copy everything and always. USSR, USA, England and the Germans. Not only ideas, but also the whole structure, not embarrassed.

Russia already has a Be-200, and they are successfully used by the Ministry of Emergencies, and when the A-40 is assembled, it’s generally fire))

Healthy, yes, yours is good too. But some kind of collective farm. The level of the 60s. And even the 50s (this is the AN-12).
Turboprop engines do not allow them to be removed higher (away from water). China has problems with turbojet engines. And in general, there is no grace, flight of technical thought. Do not compare with the Be-200, especially with the Be-2500 (although this is a project, it was close to implementation).
We do not have an urgent need for such machines, and therefore do not invest in them. And China, with their problem, Spratly, desperately needs them, so they have blinded by the principle: at least clumsy, but now.
