Ansat helicopter with a new control system demonstrated in Kazan
Kazan Helicopter Plant OJSC (KVZ OJSC) successfully conducted the first demonstration of the first prototype of the Ansat light multi-purpose civilian helicopter with a hydromechanical control system (HMSU). This correspondent .ARMS-TASS reported in the holding "Helicopters of Russia", which includes "KVZ".
At present, two Ansat prototypes with a hydromechanical control system have been manufactured in Kazan: one for flight, the other for ground tests, which have been carried out since 2011. The test program has already given positive results and JSC KVZ has submitted an application to the Aviation Register of the Interstate Aviation Committee (IAC AR) to receive an addendum to the type certificate for the installation of the HMS. Certification "Ansat" with HMS gives the opportunity to continue work on the certification of "Ansat" for the transport of passengers.
As the Helicopters of Russia holding said, at present, marketing and pre-contract work is underway on the civilian version of the helicopter with the HMSU, and potential Russian and foreign customers have already shown interest in Ansat with a new control system.
According to experts aviation industry, the modernized Ansat has a number of serious competitive advantages over peers in its class. The holding is aimed at promoting the machine in the markets of the CIS countries, Southeast Asia, Africa, Central and South America, which are traditional for Russian helicopter manufacturing.
Earlier, KVZ OJSC developed the Ansat version with the newest electrical remote control system (EDSU) for flight (KSU-A), which has no analogues in the light class in the world. However, the success of the designers of KVZ and their unique latest developments incorporated into the design of the helicopter became an unexpected obstacle to the certification of Ansat: nowhere in the world have civilian helicopters with EDSU yet been certified and the basic requirements for such a system have not yet been developed by world practice.
"In order not to depend on the timing of the certification of Ansat with KSU-A, it was decided to offer a helicopter with a traditional hydromechanical control system to the world market. We hope to receive a certificate for a version of the helicopter with a hydromechanical system already in the second half of 2012 of the year," "KVZ" Vadim Legay.
Today, the program of the Ansat helicopter with EDSU is successfully developing in the military sphere. The Russian Ministry of Defense is purchasing an Ansat-U training helicopter for flight schools. As part of serial deliveries under the current contract in 2011, the next batch of Ansat-U helicopters entered the Syzran branch of the Military Training Scientific Center of the Air Force.
At the Kazan Helicopter Plant, development work continues on various modifications of the Ansat helicopter, including further modernization of the basic model to create the Ansat helicopter with significantly improved flight, technical, economic and operational characteristics.
