MBDA: СVS101 The concept of infantry weapons system on 2030 year
MBDA (Matra BAE Dynamics Alenia), a leading European developer and manufacturer of rocket systems, was formed in 2001 by the association Aérospatiale-Matra Missiles (structure EADS), Finmeccanica and Matra BAe Dynamics
Steve Wadey, Executive Group Director Technical / Managing Director UK, MBDA:
"The new concept is another example of MBDA innovation in the rocket systems market, which allows us to develop future components for key defense areas."
The CVS101 concept is formulated as a 2030 infantryman fire support and control system of the year.
The goal is:
- the provision of light, long-range and high-precision weapons for the needs of infantry, which will allow it to strike with heavy weapons at lower levels of the command structure of the armed forces;
- adjustable power weapons;
-interaction on 5 generation networks.
The system is designed to meet the needs of infantry in urban battles with greater freedom of choice of targets and with the flexibility of prompt delivery of weapons to the target.
CVS101 system will provide the required accuracy of fire for a wide range of military and peacekeeping tasks.
Unlike existing weapons, CVS101 will be able to fight an adversary that mixes with friendly forces or civilians.
Operational interaction (positioning, SV, aiming at the target) will be provided through its own high-precision and high-speed tactical control and interaction system, which has positioning sensors, and integrated with a modern, easy-to-use fire control system that provides human decision-making in real time. CVS101 is lightweight and is designed on the principle of reducing the load on the soldier. It must provide orientation and aiming of weapons at targets in conditions of extremely poor visibility, the absence of a goal in direct visibility, and the ability to use them in difficult urban conditions due to its network integration when used with sensors in tactical information networks.
New paradigm in infantry equipment
• Infantry "platforms" - each component has several functions providing tactical flexibility
• Distribution of awareness of the situation in the group, C2-architecture
• Increasing the combat capabilities of a group of infantrymen united in a cluster, compared to a single soldier or just a group of soldiers
• Intuitive and easy to use interface
• Reducing the weight of ammunition, equipment and weapons
• The possibility of reliable selection and destruction of the enemy in the mass of friendly forces and civilians
• Support for the accuracy of fire third-party weapons of other branches of service
• Changing the intensity and power of fire in accordance with rapidly changing threats
In hostilities in Iraq (2003), heterogeneous and diverse, even belonging to the armed forces of different countries, forces and means of air attack of all types based on a single plan and plan, already distributed not only in the Middle East theater of war, but also practically throughout the world. , coordinated by goals, objectives, place and time, coordinated strikes were delivered against the most important control centers and infrastructure facilities of Iraq.
